[Chapter 27: Growing distance.]

After a few weeks, I found that the the scales wouldn't go away. The ones on my hands did, but. Not the ones going up my arms. The two Shadows had told me, they never went away... On anyone...

"So, you said, 'anyone' right? How many people how you seen like this?" I asked shifting on my bed, getting a better look at the two Shadows. "My dear, we have seen many come and go as they please. We never interacted with any of them. But... Then we saw you." Shadow Bonnie said. "We knew you were special. We knew... You were our only hope." Shadow Freddy said. They both looked at each other, frowning as they did. "We never knew we were to late to save you..." They said in unison. "H-how did you know that it was to late? I-I don't understand..." I said standing up, Walking over to the window seal. They followed me, trying to explain. "You see my dear, we have watched you from the very beginning... That moment you came in contact with Vincent, we knew we were too late..." Shadow Bonnie said patting my back, as we walked.

I stayed quiet, listening to them speak, and talk about this. "That man... We should have stopped him from meeting you..." Shadow Freddy said laying a hand on my should. I opened the window, feeling to night time air hit my face. "Then why didn't you?" I whispered low, slipping my shoes off my feet with the opposite foot. "We tried, my dear... His mind is on touchable..." Shadow Bonnie said moving in front of me. "You don't understand how hard it is to change someone's mind after they have their mind set..." Shadow Freddy said.

I stepped out on the roof, only to be met with the same night sky. It was this way. Every night I would get on the roof and talk with the Shadows, or talk to myself...

It never helped anyway...

After a few years, I moved out from my parent's house and got an apartment of my own. And, found a new job that a pretty good pay. Mary had gotten an apartment close to mine, but that was about it.

I never came outside my apartment, even when one of my parents came to check on me...

Shadow Bonnie, and Shadow Freddy keep telling me to go outside, but I would ignore them. Even if they were looking, I could care less.

"Lauren, please, come outside with us?" Shadow Bonnie pleaded grabbing a hold of my hand. I sighed, before saying 'Yes' to his request. "Thank you my dear. Freddy, come along now." Shadow Bonnie said, getting Shadow Freddy to join us Outside. "Where are we going anyway?" I asked getting off my bed, to get my phone and car keys. "We are going to the park. We remember how you loved the park." Shadow Freddy said holding up my car keys in one hand, and my phone in the other. "Give me those!" I said, grabbing them both from Freddy's hands. "I do remember how I loved the park, but... Why do you do this for me?" I asked putting them both in my pockets, reaching for my sandles. "You will grow distance if we don't. You will lose all hope in the world. That's what Demonic Syndrome does to it's host..." Shadow Bonnie trailed off, frowning as he did. "Come along then. Let's do something fun." Shadow Freddy said, opening the door to my apartment. "I see this is where you live..." I voice said. I pulled my dark green hoodie down a little more as I heard his voice.

"Not now Vincent. I have nothing to do with you." I said moving my bangs over my right eye, covering my Demonic eye. "What? Can't I see my best friend?" He said looking at my with a sad look. A fake one that is. "I am not your friend... And I never will..." I said shoving him out of my way, walking away with the two Shadows following. "Hey!! I thought we were friends!!" I hear him shout. 'Not anymore. We never were...' I thought.
