I was walking on the footpath near my friend Naomi's house, in the shade of huge, ancient trees. The wind blew through them, scattering the leaves and blowing through my long, straight and truly gorgeous hair. Though I was of British descent, my hair were black. Not the regular black, but jet black: like the hide of a bear,or the midnight sky, or ink, or black velvet. My skin was also not the clear pearly white colour as British complexion was, but a starkly contrasting golden brown, slightly Indian one. My eyes were an aquiline, emerald green colour, which looked 'distant, ambitious and unique' as my second best friend, Alison, had said.
Lost in these thoughts, I finally reached Naomi's house and knocked the door of the palatial bungalow. I always envied her of her beautiful home, with pendulum clocks, antique showpieces, marble floors, silver doorknockers and exquisite artwork. It was totally royal, which I felt someone as weak and emotional as Naomi didn't deserve to have. I felt that I, Aria Emelia Watson, deserved this more than Naomi Read did. She had just decorated her home with things you can relate to royalty and acted as though she owned the world and wore her wealth on her shoulders, but she couldn't be a royal. Because I, with my talents and rare abilities, deserved these more than she did. Even though I was an orphanage kid. When this thought crossed my mind, I heard the sound of someone jumping from the huge oak nearby.
As I turned to see, a really beautiful woman looked at me, winked at me, said "Hi, I'll catch up with ya soon. I'm in the security squad to pick ya up".
And before I could register any of it, she disappeared with a swish of her long, black, velvet cloak, while I stood staring at the spot she disappeared, long after she was gone, my head swimming.
