        Chapter 7- Complete Bedlam

Aria woke up the next morning to a gentle tap an her door, thinking whatever had happened in the past few days was a very fine dream.

" It's fine Mrs. Watson, I'm up," said Aria, in a sleepy voice, her eyes still milky with sleep as she scuttled off her bed and went to her left out of habit, and banged her head hard on the wall. Her eyes snapped open as she jerked her neck away, and slowly the fascinating truth began to sink in: all this, which seemed a dream, was true after all. The room about which she had mixed feelings yesterday now seemed like 'her' bedroom; looking friendlier in the pale rays of sunshine, the oakwood of the wardrobe gleaming, the marble floor looking snow like. It looked like Rapunzel's tower, the dull grey stone seemed lovely.

She was not that Muggle orphanage. She was at the Aulis Manor.

Awesome.

"Dimpy? Is that you?" said Aria, approaching the door.
"It's Ramonia," said her aunt, and anger filled Aria's mind.
" I won't come down unless I get an explanation for a few past events! I deserve it!" Aria yelled, panting.
" Screaming early in the morning is not a good sign, young lady," said a voice, much colder than Ramonia's friendly one. It gave the feel of an ice cube going down your throat.

On the threshold stood Servenia Aulis Dupleh. Her arms crossed over her chest, she held a small carved wooden stick in a ring encrusted hand. He red painted nails shone brightly; and she shot Aria a disgusted look. She had opened the door and was standing inside the room, Ramonia close behind.

" I demand an explanation! Who are you? Where the hell am I? Why am I not residing in the Manor? What about Mrs. Watson, Naomi, Kerri Anne, Jake and Allison? And what is this -" she grabbed the Ladyship paper "-Ladyship nonsense?" Aria bellowed, but immediately calmed down when she saw the usual icy look on Servenia's face.

"Knew you would ask this," said Servenia, settling herself on the crocodile skin sofa, the satin bathrobe she was wearing cascading down to the floor.
" I am here to answer your questions, and so is your aunt. On the condition you stay calm, keep your voice down and and try to handle precious things with care and caution," she said, gesturing at the Ladyship paper, all while smiling serenely.
"OK," said Aria, fighting to keep her temper.

" Aria, you were living in the Muggle world all of your life. You now believe so firmly in the Muggle principles of science that you have grown to be very narrow minded. So much that you refuse to believe in your ancestry, the speciality of the blood that runs in your veins, the fact that a world exists beyond-"

" I know this world exists, OK! But if you " Aria said pointedly to Servenia "- are really my mother,  why had you abandoned me to live in the orphanage all these years, while you enjoyed your status as a royal," said Aria, fury gradually rising in her.

"I told you to speak politely," said Servenia in a dangerously smooth voice.

"I shall not answer a single question if you do not control your temper. I and Ramonia need to be addressed to respectfully."

Aria sighed. This was one need hard to adhere to; but nevertheless pulled an apologetic face.

"You asked me why I left you at that Muggle dunghill. It is because you are a Bronze witch. As you may have been briefly told, a being in whose veins runs the blood of both Silvern and Golden wizards and witches is called a Bronze witch or wizard. Though the Muggles may have taken certain pleasure in proclaiming that magic is a non- existent thing, an abstract idea," Servenia snorted. She seemed to have taken it as an personal insult.

"But you know what? We exist. And it's a fact. And we're Metallics," said Servenia to Aria, staring right into her eyes, the blue pair piercing the lawn- coloured ones so much that Aria was shaken a bit.

Servenia's eyes were strange, though. They appeared glazed, far - away, but nevertheless stern. Aria thought the were the loveliest pair of eyes she'd ever seen.

And yet the intensity of those pale blue orbs was such that Aria felt weakened. She felt so stressed that she looked away for a moment to compose herself, gazing at the serene blue sky and wishing she could fly.

A sharp intake of breath was brought Aria back to the present.

"You are eleven, I presume?" said Servenia, now in a kind voice, as though afraid Aria might cry.

Aria was baffled. Servenia's mood swings were far beyond her understanding. How a person could switch moods so easily was not something Aria understood. This kind of behaviour was not a part of Aria's personality, it was something alien. Hence was her bafflement.

"No I'm ten. Gonna turn eleven next month, on the eleventh." Aria replied in the most polite way possible, bringing smiles to her mother and her aunt. Things were going on well, they thought.

Then a thought struck Aria; with such a force that she felt she was about to burst. If this pretty but blue eyed monster was her mother, she ought to know know it, but she didn't know it.

Unbelievable.

"You are not my mother!"  shrieked Aria, stalking away with a determined look, hating Servenia to the core.

She banged the door of her new and gorgeous room, running down the steps two at a time.

She hated her mother. All that hugging and kissing show of affection was all fake. Servenia didn't love her, she was just one of Servenia's coveted possessions . Servenia didnt want to love her, she wanted to control her.

Aria didn't need anyone.

She was meant to be all alone.

Vote and comment as usual.

And I'm asking you people one question.

Comment who you think should turn out to be Aria's friend. He should be from one of the Metallic families, preferably Silvern.

Thanks for your patience, love and support!
