Skylar
"Dad!" I yell as soon as I walk through the front door.
"In my office." He calls back and I run to his office.
"A guy asked me out, don't overreact. His name is Hayes and he's new and we're just friends. He wants me to go to the movies with him tonight." I smile.
"Okay, but I want to meet him."
Wow. That's not what I really expected.
"Really?"
"You're old enough to make responsible decisions and I trust you. If he seems like a bad kid, I won't let you go but I know you wouldn't want to hang out with a bad kid. I've raised you well, Sky."
I smile, "I love you, dad. I gotta go get ready!" I cheer happily.
After an hour, I'm ready and Hayes has texted saying that he is on his way. A nervous feeling arrives in my stomach. I've never been out with a boy before and I'm glad Hayes will be my first date. He seems really sweet.
"Skylar! Hayes is here!" My dad yells. I check the mirror one last time.
I didn't wear a dress, just some skinny jeans and a cute shirt with a scarf. Hopefully I look good enough.
When I get downstairs, my dad was whispering something to Hayes but when they see me Hayes nods at my father.
"Of course I'll have her home by ten. Skylar you look great."
"Thank you. You look great as well." I admire.
His eyes were bright, brighter than I've ever seen them. His hair was messed up in a perfect way. He was certainly handsome.
"Have fun but not too much fun." My dad speaks sternly, making eye contact with Hayes.
"Of course Mr. Smith."
"Please call me Randy."
"I'll see you later, dad." I rush my words, walking out with Hayes, "what are we watching?"
"I was thinking you'd want to pick." He smiles, opening the door for me.
"Oh." I mutter, "I've never been on a date."
I instantly cover my mouth. Why would I tell him that? What if this isn't even a date?
He looks at me with a smirk that made him even hotter.
"I mean, I've never been out with a boy. I didn't mean to call it a date, it's just two people hanging out." I try to cover my mistake up but end up looking like a fool with a red face.

We sat in front of my house for a second before Hayes spoke up, "I had fun."
"Me too."
"Maybe we can hang out again."
"Yeah, I'd like that." I blush.
"Goodbye, Skylar." He stares at me for a little bit, "I'll call you tomorrow."
"Sounds good, goodbye!"
I smile the whole time I'm walking to my door.
I like Hayes.
