maeve;
ring!
"oh let me get that," he says anxiously, suddenly changing his voice.
i listen to him as he talks on the phone.
"great!" he smiles before turning off his device.
"hey maeve, real sorry but i gotta catch this new girl in town. she's totally hot." he says excitedly.
what.
"oh.." i trail off.
i'm speechless. nothing to say at all.
this is why you don't fall for someone so fast.
because there's always that chance they'll hurt you in the end.
"wait- you didn't think i actually liked you, right?" he asks.
"it was assumed because of ALL THE F'ING SIGNALS." i shout.
"woah woah calm down there. i didn't do anything wrong." he says, as if he hasn't inflicted any mental pain on me.
"get out of this house and never come back in." i demand, pointing to the door.
"fine. i never liked spending time with you anyway." he says before heading towards the door.
i've never felt so horrible in my life.
after every bad thing that's ever happened to me, this was by far the worst.
because i had let my guard down, and the one person i thought could brighten me up only turned me off.
