By the next night, Marshal had found out that he could go into the sunlight, so long as he had something to shade him from most of the rays. Clothes would work, but it would have to cover his entire head, and his hands as well. As he continued reading, he found a simple umbrella would work, without holes of course. He was honestly excited, but since it was night once again, he couldn't tell the Prince about it.. About a week had gone by before Marshal had gotten the courage to even try the umbrella thing, but by then Gumball hadn't really bothered to come back. He hadn't checked on him either though... Marshal sighed as he stood in the sun, under a black umbrella he had found in a closet. It was warm outside and he wondered what the other was up to..

{Gumball's POV}
The prince had woken up that morning as he usually did. He got up, showered, got dressed, and went down for breakfast. He usually cooked for himself, seeing as what he wanted to eat varied from day to day and really had no pattern to it either. He didn't want to burden those in the castle with the sudden changes, so he took it upon himself to make breakfast. He hummed to himself as he cooked, just letting his mind wander. On rare occasions he'd get a strange sudden feeling as if something was missing, or like he'd forgotten something. He'd spend a little while looking for it, or thinking about what he'd possibly forgotten, but he never figured it out. Eventually he gave up the frantic searches, or hours of musing to himself, and ignored the feeling. Unfortunately it had gotten stronger over the last couple days, and left the prince confused or just zoned out. He'd been asked quite a few times if he was alright, or if he was becoming sick. Of course he'd say he was fine, and smile, but couldn't help but wonder what it was that made him like this. He soon finished cooking his food and sat down to eat, still humming softly as his mind continued to wander. He ate slowly but contently. For once he wasn't worried about that feeling, or what he forgot. Today was supposed to be a special day. It was the birthday of a neighboring princess and he was asked to make the cake and the preparations for it. For once, in what seemed like forever, he was actually excited. It didn't take him long to finish his food and clean up, before heading out to make sure everyone knew what they were supposed to do. A few hours passed and he was in the kitchen, putting the finishing touches on the cake that he had prepared. The princess was due to arrive soon, and he honestly couldn't wait for her to see how things had gone. By the time the party was well under way and the princess was entirely thrilled with everything, the cake was brought out, much to her delight. After a while, but still during the celebration, the prince was called off to the side. After speaking for a while, the prince only nodded, his mood more somber now.. "Yes I understand.. I will have a reply no sooner than the end of autumn.." He said simply. For some reason it felt like his heart was in his feet... The party faded and the princess and all those who came with her, had departed back to their kingdom. As the people in the castle cleaned up, of course he tried to help, but was too distracted to do much. Eventually he was told to go to his room. He'd had a long day, and needed rest, according to them. Gumball went up the stairs and to his room, getting ready before climbing into bed. He couldn't sleep though, having too much on his mind to get comfortable enough for sleep to take him. Eventually he got up and put on something else, sneaking out of the castle just to go on a walk. To where? He didn't know, nor did he care. He just needed to think, and laying in his bed wasn't nearly comfortable or relaxing enough. He didn't really pay attention as he walked, just walking through the streets and put of the city. He basically knew his way back from almost anywhere he may wander, so he wasn't worried about getting lost. He walked for hours, just thinking to himself. What was he going to do? He needed a final decision before the end of autumn... But he felt no matter what, it still wouldn't be the right decision.... He knew better than anyone else that he needed to do this, but would it mean anything if he truly didn't feel anything? He wasn't sure.. But at least he had enough time to think... Right?
