Phil was determined. He pushed through a crowd of people and grabbed Dan by the collar of his shirt. "Dan, let me take your photo, please... I need to tell you something." Phil almost cried and Dan shook his head, his fists clenching at his sides. Phil could literally see Dan's face going red in anger and he didn't fully understand why.

"What do you want to tell me? That I'm not actually beautiful? No surprise there." Dan turned so Phil reached out and grabbed Dan's shoulder. He flinched. Phil didn't bother moving his hand from Dan's shoulder as he spoke up again.

"No.. Dan, I.. You're special. Everyone I have taken photos of are beautiful, I know. They're pretty, handsome, everything.. but you.. You're more than that. I can't help but think that you are the most beautiful. I have never met someone so beautiful. I need to have a photo of you for my project. You're just so beautiful, okay? Don't even try and say you're not. I have no idea what's going on with your life but whatever it is, it's making you feel like you aren't beautiful. That isn't the case at all." Dan was speechless; he didn't know what to say. No one had ever said that to him before.. no one had ever called him beautiful before. He wasn't sure how to feel. Happy because someone complimented him? Sad because this was the first time he had been complimented? Angry that Phil wouldn't stop annoying him?

"I'm not beautiful." He half heartedly mumbled and Phil's heart felt like it had been stepped on and crushed into a billion fractions. The pure look of sadness on Dan's face made Phil frown; someone so beautiful didn't deserve to feel so sad..

"You are. Believe me. I need a photo of you."

"Fine.. I guess. Just make sure it's just for the project and after that it is never seen again." Dan's voice was so quiet that Phil wasn't entirely sure he had heard him properly.

"Okay."

"Promise?"

"Promise." Dan reluctantly stared into the camera lens, his lips not fully forming a smile but not quite a frown either. That was enough to make Phil smile though.. he was finally taking Dan's photo.

Phil snapped the photo and suddenly, his project felt complete.

"Also.." Phil awkwardly looked down at his feet, deciding it was now or never. "I find you really intriguing.. do you maybe want to be friends?"

"Friends? ..I'm not sure. I don't really like having friends."

"Please?"

"I don't know."
