There's never been things that I've hated more in my life and what Jessica was doing to me was one of those things. And you wouldn't believe why I agreed to it.
I was sitting in a salon chair. Getting a makeover. Yes, yes, you may be wondering. 'Wait? Weren't you mad at Jessica for the kissing booth incident?' Well, to answer that question, I forgave her, because I know she was just trying to look out for me. She did apologize this morning and we had an hour talk about the things that have recently happened, and just know it involved a lot of tissues. Besides the point, one thing lead to another and we skipped school, again. It was two in the afternoon and in a couple of more hours, we'd have to get ready for the carnival. I honestly don't even know why we skipped school, just for a makeover.
Mainly for me but we went to get our makeup done, (which I absolutely hate), but I only did it to make Jessica happy. Well, I went to the mall, so I can do something different to my hair. Then we were going to get our makeup done after hair and nails. It was a little girls day out before we go to the carnival.
"Should I just dye my hair, or cut it?" I touch my long wavy hair while the hairdresser waits for my decision. I gaze into the mirror and Jessica hugs me from the chair.
"That's up to you, what do you want to do?" She smiles.
"I want change. I want to be confident. Happy," I encourage myself.
Jessica then lets go of me and whispers something into the hairdresser's ear. The hairdresser then nods and gives the most genuine smile.
"Ready," she asked.
I let a big deep breath in and smiled, "yes."
Those were the last words that came out of my mouth before I was turned around and let her work her magic.

"Okay. Close your eyes," Jessica whispered in my ear.
I was excited. This is a new Tyler. Not the old nerd who was focused on the damn history channel or who ate alone in the library. I shouldn't be shy anymore because I'm Tyler freaking Castle.
"One... Two... open," she shouted.
I open my eyes and gasp, covering my mouth. My hair! It looked beautiful. It was short and I couldn't love it anymore. Everyone is going to be so surprised and speechless. And school, I won't be a loser anymore. I touch my now soft short hair, that's going to be something I have to get used to. I got up from my chair and squeeze Jessica as tight as I can.
"Thank you so much, I question why you hangout with me." I chuckle a little and she wraps her arms around me responding to the excitement.
"Because you're you Tyler, I do not know what I would do without you. You're a beautiful, amazing girl and any guy, even an asshole named Ryder would be lucky to have you," she replied happily.
"I always want to see a smile on your face, Tyler. You're my best friend." She pulled away from the hug, wiping some tears from her eyes.
"No, don't cry. You're going to make me cry." My voice cracks a little.
"Just make out already!" Some teenage boy yelled outside the store.
That's when Jessica's tears went away and she argued back, "fuck off, asswipe." He winks and puckers his lips at her, then walks away. Yep, that's my best friend.
