Chapter 2: Jerkface
The saddest word in the whole wide world, is the word almost. He was almost in love.
She was almost good for him. He almost stopped her. She almost waited for him. He almost lived. They almost made it.

"Today you'll be working with a new project and you'll be in groups. There'll be two students in each group." Mr Prescott said the whole class sighed including me. "And you'll work in the same pairs as you sit." He added quickly as everyone groaned.
Lodovica wasn't here and since Jorge's partner wasn't here as well, I'd know for sure that he'd have to work with me. "Mr prescott?" I asked as he walked towards me and Jorge.
"Lodovica isn't here today, so I just want to ask you if it's okay if I start with the project alone?" I asked him, secretly hoping that he would say yes.
"Yes, go on." He said and turned around to continue with the lesson, but stopped. I raised an eyebrow at his sudden turn and he shook his head. "I'm sorry I almost forgot. Since Jorge doesn't have a partner either you two can work with the project together and Lodovica will have to work with Jorge's partner." And with that he left me with my mouth wide open.
He did not just leave me here with the jerkface.
"Since were doing a fresh new start, I thought that it would be better if we all got to know each other better. So in this project you'll have to spend much time with your partner and write a text about the new person you got to know. I wish you all luck."
Could this day get any worser.
"Uhm, so I guess that I'm going to-" but I was cut of by the jerk. "Nope." He said popping the 'p'.
"It's boring to just ask each other about favourite colors and that. Let's make it funnier and play twenty questions." He says as I nod. It's a pretty great idea and I wonder how I didn't come up with it sooner.
"Favourite movie?"
"Mhm rings?" I respond.
"You're into scary movies I see."
"Favourite color?" I ignored his little comment and continued.
"Definitely black. Most awkward moment?" I thought for a moment before answering.
"That is a question I can't answer. My whole life is practically awkward. Any siblings?" He laughed at that and his eyes was twinkling with amusement.
"Nope. I'm an only child. Why did you start this school?" The second I heard him asking that question my smile got replaced with a frown and I broke eye contact with him. My past was something I couldn't tell him.
"That's none of your business. Why do you want to know it so badly?" I almost shouted at him as I clenched my fists. Everytime somebody reminded me of my past my eyes got all teary and I started to cry. And since I didn't want to show him my weakness, I was more than sure that I'd never show anyone that until the day I die.
"Stop putting up such a show and just answer the damn question." He said probably annoyed at how I was acting right now. I couldn't blame him though, he didn't knew anything after all.
"Wait. . . did I say something-" but before he could continue the bell rang and I sighed of relief. I quickly took up my books and was ready to leave the classroom when someone grabbed my wrist and made me spun around. I got face to face with no one other than Mr Jerkface.
