Chapter 2

The walk to school was cold and bitter. When I reached the school gates, I noticed a figure leaning against the lamppost across from my school. I think it was guy, but looking at him made my hairs stand on end. He was dressed in full black and he had his hood up, all I could see was the smirk on his face. My mind started racing what if he was smirking at me? I suddenly began to feel self-conscious and wary. Looking around me I noticed the school yard was empty and so was the street. I looked back over at him and his lips were moving. I heard someone whisper in my ear.

"Forever."

The voice was like soft velvet. I jumped slightly and broke my gaze away from the stranger to see who had whispered in my ear, no one was there, when I looked back at the lamppost the hooded man was gone ... was I seeing things? I swear there was a guy standing there.

The school bell had disrupted my thoughts, so I headed into the building to continue my day in hell. My first few classes dragged out so I was too tired to continue with my fourth lesson of the day so I spent it in the library.

In the library I began to scan some books in the science section but my eye were caught by a book about demonology, this book was in the wrong section which is weird. Miss Nut, our librarian was OCD about books being in the wrong section. So I grabbed the book and headed over to the nearest table and started to read.

Foot steps sounded in the background. I could see two kids running past me, a girl and a boy . They looked around 12 years old.

"Come on Aslin down here" The dark haired boy called to her. I watched the young boy push a rose bush to the side that sat next to a hill, I watch both the kids stumble down into a dark burrow hole, I glanced around me to make sure no one could see me and I followed them in. It was dark in the burrow hole. It smells purely of earth and rotting weeds. I can't see or hear anything but shallow breaths from the running kids.

"Whoah! that was close" The young boy laughed.

"I know right!" The young girl called Aslin replied. Suddenly, the burrow hole was filled with a dim light coming from a candle the young boy had just lit. I glance at both of them but they couldn't see me.

"I don't want you to go Kol! I want you stay here with me" Aslin told the young boy called Kol. They both looked sad. Kol's eyes were filled with emptiness as he walked over to Aslin, wrapping his arms around her, letting her cry on his shoulder. I felt a strange emptiness in my chest. It was weird watching this because I know this young girl is me but I don't have any idea who this boy is, I feel like I know this as a memory but I can't remember.

"Aslin don't worry, I'll come back for you! remember our promise we made when we were 6 that still counts, I wont forget you, I promise we will see each other again!" Kol pulled away from my younger self and took her left hand in his, the hand with the scar from their promise. Aslin looked up at him, a tear ran down her face, he caught it with his finger.

"Forever" Aslin mumbled.

After that moment, everything went blurry... Then I woke. I looked around me and realised I was still in the library, but it was empty and no one was here.... but me. Looking out the window it looked about 19:00pm. I sighed, grabbed my bag and left the library. The school hallways were dark and no one was out here. When I reached outside, the cold night air breeze hit my face. I jogged down the school steps and walked across the car park to the gates, the air around me suddenly became freezing so I pulled my jumper around me, I quickened my steps. I walked onto the main street and headed straight. I began to feel as if someone was watching me, I looked around but no one was there.

A cold breeze whipped my long brown hair up and into my face, I tried to move it, suddenly... something cold brushed across my neck and someone whispered in my ear.

"Forever"

I whipped my head around but no one was there and when I turned back, I slammed into something hard and I staggered backward.

"What the fuck!" I groaned.

"You should really watch where you are going" Someone had said. I looked up and there he was, the hooded guy I had saw earlier. He was tall, lean and was smirking down at me.

"I was! I erm, just slipped! that's all" I replied sternly. I tried to walk around him, he laughed and blocked my path.

"Hmm, now is that what you call it?" He smirked.

"Whatever! can you move so I can get home please?" I shouted. He took a step closer and leaned to my ear.

"Are you asking? or is that an order, Aslin?" The hooded man asked. He stepped back, I stared back at him blankly confused on how he knew my name.

"H-how do you know my name?" I stuttered. He pulled his hood down and gave me a toothy grin. He had perfect teeth, however, he had demonic crimson eyes... those eyes, they look so familiar.

"Secret" He replied and winked at me. I scowled, pushed him away and before I could make a run for it, he grabbed my arm and looked into my eyes. His eyes held something beneath them, something I knew but I couldn't figure it out.

"I'll see you around" He let go of my arm and headed the opposite direction from me, I stared at the back of him confused on how to react and then his dark figure was gone. I turned back and walked the rest of the way home as quickly as I could.
