Chapter 5
I'm standing in a field I can see a young girl chasing a ball, I began to jog over to get a better look. The young girl is me I look around my surroundings. Where is this place? A blond haired boy runs over to me, I run the opposite way from him but he caught up with the younger me. I watch closely at this scene the boy is about an inch taller than me, I think I'm about 10 years old here.
"Give me the ball Aslin," Demanded the young blond haired boy.
"No it's mine" The younger version of me replied.
"I don't care if it is, I'll take what I want." The boy shoved the younger version of me over; she stumbled over the ball and landed on her knees.
"Ouch that hurt Corbin" He grinned at her and shrugged his shoulders, Corbin that was the name of the guy from the other night.
"Shut up girl, what you going to do cry to Kol" He laughed in her face, and the younger version of me started to cry. I felt bad for her she looked so sad I ran over to her and tried to place my hands on her shoulders but they just fell through her body.
"Hey leave her alone Corbin!" Shouted a young boys voice, I looked up it was Kol.
"Oh look here Kol comes to save the day once again" Laughed Corbin.
"Give me the ball" Demanded Kol, I watched Corbin's face go from smug to fear struck, he threw the ball to Kol and he caught it and Corbin ran off in the opposite direction from Kol and my younger self. Why do these memories seem so familiar to me but I don't remember this boy who is he.
Kol crouched down and put his arm around my younger self, and she looked up to him and smiled happiness sprung into her eyes and Kol's crimson eyes softened. He placed her head in his hands and stroked away her tears with his thumbs, I could see her lean more into his touch she clearly enjoyed his company.
"Thanks " She mumbled to him, her gaze was looking down at her knotted fingers.
"I'll always protect you Aslin, no mater what I promise," Kol told her with a brave voice. My vision began to go blurry and everything went black.
When I sat up I was back in my bedroom, I was in my bed. Everything was the same bare white walls, chest of drawers with a mirror on top and a computer desk with my collection of CD's on top new to the PC. I shoved my covers off of my body and realized I was in a Pair of black shorts and a black tank top. What happened last night all I remember was being attacked and then blacking out. No. Wait someone picked me up but I can't remember anything else. I sat up quickly and swung my legs over the edge of my bed but when I stood I fell back down because of a pain I had got in my ribs. I lifted my top and had to blink more at what I was seeing my ribs were stained with purplish and black bruises. I began to stand slowly and went and opened my door. The hallway was dark but light was coming from down stairs. What time was it, it was still dark outside it must be late. I took slow steps as I crept down stairs when I touched the floor it was cold.
I walked through to my kitchen because that's where the light was coming from. There he stood a black figure the hood was up so I couldn't see him.
"Kol?" I asked, the figure slowly turned around and he pulled down his hood. His face was full of concern and he had a cut going through his right eyebrow.
"Are you okay Aslin?" He asked his mouth was set in a grim line, which made me know he was more serious right now.
"Erm yeah just my ribs hurt" I walked over to my kitchen island and sat on one of its stools. The stool was cold on my skin but it was nice. Kol's face softened a little.
"I wish I got to you sooner" He bowed his head.
"You didn't know I was being attacked," I told him, I don't even understand why he cared so much we barely knew each other.
"It's just the thought of you being hurt Aslin I can't take it" He was almost yelling his blue eyes were staring into my green ones with an intensity that made me blush.
"You don't know me you shouldn't care," I mumbled as I stared down at my knotted fingers.
"Only if you knew," Kol replied. He took a step towards the stool I was sitting on. I turned to face him but winced a little at the pain in my ribs.
"I wish I could take away your pain," He said but it was barely a whisper, he placed his hand gently on the side of my face the warmth passed though the rest of my body. I feel safe with him.kol leaned in more getting closer to my face, I think he was going to kiss me but I interrupt him.
" who the hell changed me?" I asked and blushed a little because I already knew this answer.
"Erm me " He smirked and stepped back from me the warmness I felt had faded slightly. My face flushed at the thought that he had seen me partly naked.
"Don't worry its no problem I've seen it all before" He grinned broadly and all of a sudden cocky Kol was back I hated when he wore that smirk but it made him look happy but that was then replaced by a serious looking kol.
"But Aslin I need you to know that I will always protect you no matter what" His eyes stared into mine with so much intensity that I thought he was staring into my soul. I nodded at him but then it hit me those words, so familiar that's what the young boy kol had said to me in my dream.
"Kol" I whispered. Kol looked at me he looked shocked but replaced it with a mask that showed absolutely no emotion.
"I have to go" Kol mumbled and turned away before I could reply he was out the door and gone. What was with that, that was strange.
