Elizabeth's P.O.V

Something about tonight was beautiful. I know I shouldn't be outside at a park but I couldn't pass up the opportunity. The park belongs to an apartment complex about half a block away. An old man in the window watching me intently.

I tried not to pay any mind to the man's eyes boring into my soul but something seemed off. For some odd reason I began getting scared. A small child came up to me according to his stature he could be no younger than 8 or 9. I tried my best to not look scared as I kept looking at the boys clothes.

"Miss, can I use your phone?" The little boy asked in a voice that would sound sweet normally. I looked up at his shoulders before shaking my head.

"Please Miss. I will not hurt you. I have nothing to hurt you with I promise. All I need is for you to let me use your phone," as I told him no I heard Mark yelling from a distance. My eyes were fixated on the small boy with his hood pulled up. Eventually he began to dissipate.

I felt Mark's hands on my shoulders as my heart began beating and my adrenaline started pumping. Mark hugged me tightly as Adam pulled up in his truck with Esria riding shotgun.

The drive home was quiet until Mark grabbed my hand.

"I'm glad you're safe Elizabeth. I really am," Mark tried to say before I cut him off with a hug. I was so thankful he came running along before something horrible happened.

Later that night I finished my drawing. A man in an apartment complex staring down at the street below. Something was off though. Something about his face wasn't right. He looked scared. I paid this observation no mind before going to bed.

A knock on the door sounded throughout my apartment. It seemed like nothing until an overwhelming sense of fear kicked in. Something about the situation had me paralyzed before I was compelled to stand.

I stood and faced the door. My feet moving with a mind of their own. A pounding on my door came as though a full grown man was behind it. The rapid beating sounded like he was trying desperately to get in. I opened the door only to see a small boy.

This was the same boy I had seen in the park earlier. He was the one who stood in front of that girl. He was the one with no shadow. I heard the little boy ask me slowly.

"Mister can I use your phone?" I told the boy no as he walked a bit closer to the door. This tone he sounded as if he was pleading.

"Mister please. I'm lost and I need to call my mother. She's not going to be happy if I don't call her." The boy looked at my chest. I could feel a hard punch to my heart. My soul felt like it held a thousand weights.

"No. I can't let you in," I told the little boy as I tried to receded back into my house more. The little boy walked up a little closer but never set foot over the threshold.

"Let me in. Now," the boy spoke this time with anger shattering his tone. As he lifted the hood I saw his eyes. They were black as if they were painted with the depths no one was ever acquainted with. The only white in his eyes came from a light reflecting off of them in the distance.

My arm moved and opened the door a bit more. My lips wanted to open and speak words my brain couldn't comprehend. I tried my best to not let the boy in but I couldn't help it.

"Mister are you going to let me in?"

"Yes," I said as the boy walked in and shut the door behind himself. Soon enough all I saw was black. My body rested and so did my mind.

I woke up in a cold sweat. My mind was screaming and I felt like crying. After I calmed down a bit I went into the kitchen and got a glass of water. I stood there for a second before going to the bathroom.

The cold tiles of the floor met my feet as I saw the mirror out of my peripheral. Across the glass I saw letters written.

Let me in now was scrawled on the steamy mirror. I felt the immense fear rise again and over take me. I screamed loudly. Mark ran in followed by Esria and Adam.
