“That makes sense on why you haven’t seen me then, I got suspended.” I laughed.

“For what?” He raised his eyebrows.

I shrugged, “It’s really nothing, well, bye Jace.” I said leaving.

I spent the rest of the day on cleaning duty.

When I got home I was covered in sweat and dirt so I showered and then I realized how sore I was, so I ended up falling asleep.

I woke up to my sister blasting her music in her room (which was next to mine).

So I threw something at the wall and yelled, “Hailee! It’s too fucking early! Turn it down!” I groaned and rolled over in my bed.

“No!” She yelled back and threw something back at the wall, “Get up we have to go to school!”

Ah shit, she’s right we do have school… I hate Mondays.

I rolled over and out of bed and turned on my radio and blasted ‘Face Down byThe Red Jumpsuit Apparatus’ and hit it on repeat, and then went and showered.

After that I put on a purple shirt that says ‘Don’t get your hopes up, I’m not that easy’ in black in and a pair of white and black cheetah print skinny jeans and black converse.

I left my hair and makeup as I usually did it.

“Dawn! Zoey’s here!” My mom yelled from downstairs.

I turned off my radio and ran down stairs.

Me and Zoey walked to school.

“You didn’t tell me there was a new guy.” I told her on the way to school.

“Oh, you know about Jace? Um… Your sister… She said he’s off limits because he’s hot… and she wants him.” She shrugged.

“…Are you kidding me? That’s unbelievable! She has Reese and wants Jace.” She’s such a whore.

What the hell is wrong with her?

“I know, but thankfully Jace turned her down.” Zoey giggled.

“What?” That was a shock.

“I know right.” She was still giggling, “It’s unbelievable that he turned Hailee down. Every guy I know wants to date her.”

Come to think about it, he did turn Tiffany down yesterday.

“Zoe, did you know he turned down Tiffany yesterday?” I asked.

“Who turned down yesterday?” It was Jace’s voice.

Me and Zoey turned around to see Jace standing behind us with a smirk on his face.

“How much of that have you’ve heard?” I glared at him.

“Hailee’s your sister, and apparently I’m so hot.” He laughed.

His ego was too big, but his laugh made me blush.

He was sort of cute.

“Have you two met?” Zoey asked.

He chuckled, “Dawn was my maid.” He went to hug me.

I pushed him away, “Too close.”

Zoey looked at us, wide-eyed. “Is there something you’re not telling me?”

“Heh. No. I just got a temporary job until they find a replacement.” I shrugged.

“So you two met at Dawn’s job?” Zoey seemed upset, like I left her out of something.

“I haven’t seen you since Saturday; I got it after I dropped you off.”

“Oh…” She still sounded upset.

“Dawn. Zoey… Jace.” I heard Hailee’s voice coming from behind me.

We turned to face her.

“What do you want Hailee?” I asked.

“I knew you two would be behind Jace turning me down, but guess what I’m not giving up. Remember, Sister dearest, I always get the guy.” She smiled devilishly.

Something in my heart pained.

What she said made Jace laugh, “Oh, really? Then explain how you don’t have me and how you never will? You’re sister and Zoey aren’t part of me turning YOU down. You are, you’re a whore. Apparently I’m the only guy to realize that.” He pointed out.

Hailee made an ‘Ugh’ and a groan sound and walked away.

Wow. Jace surely was something.

“Time to get to class right girls?” Jace asked.

I laughed and we all headed to class together.

School passed by in a flash and I had to work right after school, so I didn’t spend time with Zoey.

At work they had me serve countless people all night.

It was a tiring day.

After I changed out of the costume, Nessie came into the locker room.

“Dawn you’re leaving? I have a request.” She sounded a little bit uneasy.

“Um. Ask?” I grabbed my school bag and faced her.

“Well, could you drop this off for me?” She handed me a bag of food and then a piece of paper, “At this address.”

“Sure.”

I left, heading to drop the food off.

The people who ordered the food were rich, so I just handed the food to the butler at the door and then went to leave.

“Dawn!” I heard Jace yell for me running through the yard towards me.

“What the hell are you doing here?”

Why is he everywhere when I turn around?

“I should ask you that, because I live here.” He smiled at me.

“…You got to be kidding me…” He’s rich.

He ended up cornering me against a wall, with one arm propped against it, holding him up.

“So, Dawn, why are you here?” His eyes met mine. My eyes lingered to his lips…

Why did I want them against mine? I looked away.

I pushed him away without answering because I couldn’t speak and then I ran home.

Why did I feel this way about him?
