Cami's pov.
A steady beeping wakes me from a deep sleep. My eyes dart around to find something familiar. I see the all too familiar white walls, white tile floors and the white bed I'm lying in. Suddenly the door opens and Monica rushes through. Her perfect blonde hair is up in a messy ponytail and her pale skin in flushed red and swollen.
'Cami!' She rushes to my side and grabs my hand.
'Hi Mon.' I try sitting up but there's a sharp pain in my lower stomach.
'Don't sit up. You got shot Cami..'
'Oh right..' I nod along. 'Where's Zane?'
'Uh- let's worry about you healing right now.'
'Okay.. Where's my mom? Or Tristan? What happend to him?'
'Your mom had an episode Camille.' She says softly while stroking my hand.
'What? Is she okay?'
'She's unresponsive. But she's stable.'
I nod unable to speak.
'Oh and Tristan is dead.'
'Wha-?'
'Oh Camille you're awake! How are you feeling?' A brunette doctor says enthusiastically when she enters my room.
'I'm okay. A little pain but I guess that comes with the a gun shot.' I chuckle darkly.
'Yes, yes it does.' The nurse turns to Monica. 'Did you fill her in on everything?'
Monica glances at me before shaking her head.
'Okay, Camille, you went through serious surgery.' I nod and clench my hands into a fist to control there uncontrollable shaking. 'We removed the bullet and stopped all the internal bleeding. You have a long recovery in front of you, but if you're up for it, I'll be here every step of the way.' She smiled at me and I felt calm for only a second before everything came rushing back.
'What about my mom? Or Zane?' I ask impatiently. 'And did you say Tristans dead?' I ask Monica.
She nods and avoids eye contact.
'I think I should get Zane's mother, and then I'll check on your mother.'
'Why do you need his mother, bring him to me!' I all but yell at her as she avoids me and scrambles out the door. I feel frustrating tears burn in my eyes as I clench my fists at my sides.
'Monica, tell me whats going on. NOW.' I state through gritted teeth.
'Uh- just wait for Zane's mom.' She is still avoiding my eyes when Lucy, Zane's mom appears in the doorway with puffy eyes.
'Hello Camille.' She smiles sadly at me.
'Hi Lucy, you really didn't need to come to see me, I'm okay.' I smile reassuringly.
She squeezes her eyes shut and a few tears slip out. 'Honey will you give me and Camille a minute to talk.' She says to Monica.
Monica nods and leaves quickly. Lucy walks to the edge of my bed and holds my hand. 'Honey after you got shot, Zane tried to save you.' More tears fell from her red eyes. 'Tristan didn't want you to be saved.' She breathed out a shaky breath.
I squeezed her hand trying to offer support.
'Tristan shot Zane, Camille.' She sobs.
My whole vision blurs as my head spins. 'What? Where? When? Is he okay? I have to see him now? Take me to him!' I scream trying to get up. I tug at the wires in my arms until Lucy grabs my wrists stopping me.
