'Why the hell can't I say it.' I yelled getting off her bed and tugging my boxers on.

'Because you don't mean it. We dont even know eachother!' She retorted while getting up and putting her oversized shirt and shorts on.

'That doesn't matter! I just know i feel something that feels like love for you.' I took a few steps closer so I was hovering over her. 'I freaking love you Cami!'

Tears welled in her eyes. Then she covered her mouth and slid down the side of the bed and sat there sobbing.

'Cami? Just because your not ready to hear it doesn't mean i don't actually feel it.'

She shakes her head. 'No thats not why.'

'Then why?' I asked sitting beside her while caressing her thigh slowly.

Tears fall from her big green eyes. She clutches her shirt & smiles.

'My dad.' She turns to meet my eyes, when she sees the confusion on my face she continues. 'My dad died when I was 14. So two years ago.' Her tears fell faster now. And I grabbed her hand reassuringly. She smiled a small smile. 'We had a fight because i didn't want to go to church one Sunday and he was trying to force me. My mom was on a business trip so it was just me and him. I refused so he left, angry.' She stopped trying to steady her breathing. 'He called me on the way there and said he was sorry, before i could apologize too. There was tires screeching & he was hit head on by a stupid teenager texting.' Her breathing was picking up & i rubbed her back.

'Baby, you don't have to tell me all of it.'

She nodded. 'Thank you Zane but i do. I've never said it out loud.' I just nodded and kissed her head letting her lie back into my chest.

'I heard him struggle for air. I screamed for him but he didn't answer. The phone fell away from him during the accident. I could hear him talking at the end of his breaths. He said, honey I don't know if you can here me but I love you & he tried to keep talking but his lungs were gasping for air.' She paused. 'I heard him take his last breath.' She leaned into me more, melting into my arms.

'Oh baby, I'm so sorry.'

'This is his shirt.' She said balling it into her hands. 'Its the last shirt he wore, other then the one he died in.' She sobbed.

'Shhh, go to sleep honey.' I picked her up and laid her next to me in her bed. I rubbed her hair while her breathing slowed and she fell asleep.
