James and I were still in bed, watching cartoons, eating our Chinese food from the to go boxes they arrived it. He shoved a fork full of rice into my mouth, I shoved a piece of chicken into his.
I think he put too much soy sauce into his rice.
I set the box into my lap, opening a fortune cookie and eating half of it as I read the note on the small sheet of paper.
'A very attractive person has a message for you.'
"So, what is it?" I asked James.
He furrowed his brows. "What is what?" He muffled through the food in his mouth. How classy.
"The message you have for me? What is it?"
"What are you talking about?"
I chuckled, showing him my fortune, causing a smile to spread on his face.
"Wow, once again, you're so cheesy, dude." He stated.
Ein waddled into the room, wagging her tail at the scent of food. James closed his box, setting it on the small stand beside him to pat the bed. Ein lept halfway, her small legs clearly showing she wouldn't be able to make it all the way, and James caught her, gently pulling her up. He lied down with her, petting her belly.
"Aw, you guys are so cute." I said with a grin.
He stuck his tongue out at me, opening his fortune cookie.
"So be it. Let's go then." He responded to the fortune, 'Adventure is around the corner.'
"Dogs?" I asked. Usually one of the first questions we ask each other.
"Dogs."

I held Ein's leash and James held Mishka's. Today was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining bright, there wasn't a single cloud in the blue sky, and the weather couldn't be better.
We were walking through the local park, a place we've been meaning to go. When I first moved here I planned on jogging here, but walking through it with James works, too. An abundance of trees filled the park, the leaves have finally all grown back. There were a lot of people here. Whether it being couples or familys or friends.
I took a sip of my frozen Starbucks drink, taking a seat on an empty bench in the sun.
"This is a nice adventure." I stated honestly.
James leaned down, picking up a rock from the ground while nodding. "Yeah, it is." He said calmly, twisting himself around to grab the back of the bench and dig the rock into it.
"What the hell are you doing?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
He wore a toothy grin, carving

into the wood.I chuckled. "Isn't that what, like, elementary students do?"
"Yeah, probably. So what?"
I shrugged my shoulders, taking the rock from him and putting a heart around the initials. A woman walking by gave me a strange look, presumably because I look like a hooligan. I carefully swiped my thumb across the engraving, cleaning it up.
"Okay, I gotta get home now before mom finds out I left!" I spoke in a nasally childish tone.
James laughed, leaning his head on my shoulder. "Aw, c'mon, Leksi. Can't you stay a little longer?"
I vaguely blushed at the nickname. "Alright. Anything for you, Jamie." I placed a small kiss on his forehead.
James breathed out a quiet chuckle, staring down at his hands. "Hey, Aleks, remember that first day we hung out? At the field?"
"Yeah. Your special place. What about it?" I responded curiously.
"The thing I mumbled.. The thing I didn't tell you, you said it would bug you."
"Oh, yeah! I can't believe I forgot about that.. What was it?"
"Well.." James paused, a gentle smile on his face as his eyes locked with mine.
"I said, 'just like you'. It's beautiful and calms me down, just like you."__________________
