"But you can't tell anyone..." I looked at him with pleading eyes as I spoke quietly. If John told people about me one can only hope that they brush it off as an over active imagination. I needed this human to understand the dexterity of the situation for me. The thought of being captured put in caged and forced to perform like circus animals made me shiver in disgust. "Please I'm begging you...you can't tell anyone about me..."
I move to him and tightly grab his shoulders to stress my point. "We can't be found out..."

I was a little shocked at the expression on the merman's face as he spoke. The fear, the anxiety and the worry his crimson eyes conveyed made me feel as though we had switched places. When he grabbed my shoulders I knew I needed to calm him down somehow or else the poor guy was gonna have a heart attack!
"I swear I wont tell anyone about you Dave now just take a deep breath okay? You need to calm down." I tried to keep my voice calm and level so that maybe he would calm down a little easier. I gently touch his shoulders as he held mine. "No one else will find out about you, I'll make sure of that."
