"All of this has happened before, and it will all happen again." -J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

-First Person/Misty-

Waking up was fearful. I found myself laying on a beach I wasn't familiar with the warmth of the sand or the chill from ocean. A pain shot down from my leg when I tried to move. When I looked down, I found my ankle strapped to a rock with a strong vine. Panic filled my voice and I screamed for help. "Someone!! HELP!!!!" My voice faded away. When I looked around, I noticed it was nightfall. A little past nightfall, almost morning although, the sky above me was a pale blue. I could still see the stars and I could still see the moon. A forest was my back view. I then caught my train of thought when it almost slipped away. Suddenly he came to me. The boy's face. I thought that was a nightmare! I didn't think that was real! I thought I was going to wake up, in my bed. Turns out, I woke up on some beach.

The boy, maybe if I could remember his face, I could find him. Threaten his life if he didn't take me back. But of coarse, I couldn't without knowing his true intentions. That's what scared me the most. What was he planning on doing with me? Where was he even at? I had to get free, free from this dreadful rock! I yanked and pulled on the stubborn vine for what seemed like a century. Eventually I was defeated. Realizing, yanking at the vine was pointless, just like pulling on a tree trunk. It won't budge unless you have a chainsaw. Man, I needed one. Reality came to me. Oh, yeah, right...right. The boy, his face. From a rough memory, I could still remember his eyes. The green was like lasers, burning into my eyes. They haunted me beautifully. They were as green as the trees behind me. His dark lashes were black as a raven's wings. Then blue grains, they fell upon me like dust. With anxiety, I remember closing my eyes so the grains wouldn't get into my eyes and burn. I couldn't rub them because the boy's legs locked my hands nor could I scream. His hand blocked me. That was the scary part that made me shiver. It's not every night you're kidnapped with no way out. Against your will, you're trapped there, letting them take you away and you couldn't do a resentful thing about it. It angered me but yet, I feared for the worst. What was going to happen to me? What did the the boy even want with me? I'm just a girl. He looked like a normal boy, didn't seem that way though. He almost looked innocent...helpless.

Thinking for so long, I almost forgot where I was. Looking up at the sky, it was almost morning. The stars began to fade along with the moon. I started to shiver. I rubbed my arms and called for help again. "Help!!!!! Anybody there!!!? PLEASE!!" There was no response. Tears flooded my eyes. I tried yanking at the vine again. Growing with frustration, I grunted and let myself fall back down on the sand in exhaustion. I pouted awhile, watching the ocean drag my tears away.

Getting bored of the same old view, I looked around with my eyes. Suddenly, something shiny near by caught my attention. I lifted my head and rested on my hands. Sand poured from my hair like water. From a far, the object looked almost metallic although, it wasn't shaped like a weapon, but some type of sharp rock. A thought came to me. It was but a feet away. Maybe if I could reach it, I could cut myself free. With an arm outstretched I could feel the rock at my finger tips. With a never-ending eagerness, I snatched at it hoping to get it but then I felt a sharp pain at the end of my index finger. Quickly, I yanked my hand away with pain. I examined my finger. Blood was beginning to drip from the newly fresh cut. The pure crimson slid down my finger. I turned it slightly and the blood slipped down onto the sand, leaving a tiny puddle. Sucking in air through clenched teeth, I reached for the ocean shore. Soon enough, the water submerged over my finger, leaving the blood to carry itself away. Strangely, the ocean turned slightly brighter. I looked up at the morning sky, thinking maybe the sun had come out. Weirdly, it didn't. I whispered to myself in confusion. "What the......" My voice died when I heard a rustling in the trees. I gasped at how unexpected it was.

Fear began to boil inside of me. Without hesitating anymore, I reached for the rock again. This time, I ignored the stinging in my finger. Finally, I snatched the rock away, fondling it in my hand. I was mesmerized from it's beauty. Pale blue and sliver flacks covered it from most of it's angles. It shimmered gracefully. I was drawn away from it when the rustle in the trees got louder, and fearfully, closer. Without another thought, I crawled back to the rock, hiding behind with my eyes peering towards the trees.

Suddenly, an older looking boy stepped out carrying what looked like a blanket and something else. I then recognized him. It was the boy that kidnapped me. I could tell by the way his face appeared. He seemed to be searching around, maybe for me? I didn't care, I stayed hidden. His faced then formed a worried expression. Suddenly, he was speeding towards my direction. Scared out of my mind, I sliced and ripped through the vine with the sharp end of the rock. I kept looking up, he was getting closer by the second. My heart started pounding out of my chest. I cut the vine faster. "Come on...please God come on!" I whispered to myself. Finally, it broke apart. I then pulled myself up and started running down the beach screaming. The boy's attention was shot towards me. I could hear him running faster then lightening. He was now right on my tail. I picked up my speed and screamed louder. As I was running, I turned my head and saw him leap towards me. I screamed as I hit the ground with the boy on top of me.
"Oh, no you don't!" He spit words from his mouth. My arms had been free. I dug my hands into the sand, pulling myself away, hoping to get a grip of something but I only gripped sand. Sand that slipped through my fingers.
"NOOOOOO!" I pouted from the struggle. His grip on my waist loosened and I flipped myself on my back, hoping to use my feet to slide out from under him. He then strapped my arms down on my waist and placed his legs on the sides. I came to an ultimate stop when I realized I had no way of getting free. I began to pout some more. "Uggghhhhh!!! What do you want from me!? LET ME GO!!" Small tears spilled from my eyes as I continue to scream. I just wanted to go home, be away from this boy and away from this place. He flung his hand over my mouth to block out the noise.
"Shhhh....it's okay. I'm not going to hurt you." My screams turned into small subdued cries. I finally caught my breath and began thinking again. "Now....if I let you go...will you promise to stay put?" His words came across with caution. I nodded with blurred eyes. He then released me. I breathed. "Good, now come with me." I followed him over to the rock. He bent down and picked up what looked like a hand knitted blanket, tossing it to me. I caught it and wrapped it around myself.
"Thanks." He nodded. "I'm Misty by the way."
"I know." He flashed a sideways grin. I was confused on how he knew my name but decided to shrug it off.
"Okay...so, what's your name?"
"Peter, Peter Pan."
"Like the story?"
"Story? What story?"
"The story my friend told me, back when I lived in America."
"Mind you telling me this story?" I shook my head.
"There once was a boy named Peter Pan. He never wanted to grow up so he flew away to a place between the stars. A place called Neverland with his side fairy named Tinkerbell. One night he took a girl and her brother's to Neverland. He liked her stories. They went into battle with Hook and his pirates. Peter then was defeated, although something brought him back to life but, I forget the rest after that. Although, I think the girl's name was....." I was cut off by Peter's voice.
"Wendy."
"So it's true? The story is true?" He nodded. "So, I'm in Neverland?" He nodded again.
"Well where's Tinkerbell? And, isn't there Indians, mermaids, and pirates?" It seemed funny to believe something like this but something within was making me believe. Although, I didn't know what.
"They're gone..."
"What?"
"They're gone."
"What about the Lost Boys?"
"They're gone too, Wendy took them."
"She took them....what about the rest, what happened? Why are they gone?"
"A tsunami...that's part of the reason I brought you here...it hit four years ago."
"I didn't know there were tsunami's in a place like Neverland."
"Me neither..."
"So everything is...."
"Dead." I gasped.
"Oh my goodness!! How terrible!! Is that why you've aged?" He nodded. I felt a rain of sadness fall over me. Tears were starting to form in my eyes, but, I wiped them away. Peter probably didn't want me to cry seeing how he's probably had enough of that for one day.
"I know...but...you will help me. You're capable of that."
"How'd you figure it was me that could help you?"
"A feeling I got. It urged me over to your window and I don't know, it just came...my feelings are usually right."
"Oh...." I was doubtful but at the same time, I felt like I needed to stay. Peter needed my help, my heart was telling me.
"Yeah so now that we've got that out of the way, what's your story?"
"My story?"
"Yeah..." I thought, soon realizing, what he meant.
"It's an awfully long story but I suppose, I would have to tell you eventually." He shrugged.
"That dosn't matter. I'm willing to listen, I haven't listened to anyone for a very long time." I stared at him, wondering if I should trust him. But then, I saw the innocence flickering in his eyes. "Well....go on....." I smiled, excepting his flaws. Knowing myself, I've always had trust issues but strangely, I felt like I could tell Peter anything, anything in the world...or in this case...Neverland.
