"Just always be waiting for me.” - J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

-First Person/Misty-

My breath was gone. My heart was pounding. My feet were cramping. Sticks and rocks stab deep within my heel's, but I didn't care. I just wanted to get away from that tree, away from that area itself. Boy, when I told Peter, he'd be anxious, more anxious then myself. His mind would be racing. He'd think crazy things.

Once I was far enough, I stopped. Fighting for air in my lung's, I bent over, my head was getting dizzy. I felt sick, like I was about to throw up. My stomach was wrenching with awful cramps and my chest burned. I then began to pant and sweat. Inhaling, I close my eye's, still dizzy. Backing up, my hand's groped the air till they landed upon a rough bark-like surface. A tree trunk. Feeling more grateful then ever, I wrapped both arm's around the trunk and opened my eye's. Then. My. Heart. Stopped.

-First Person/Peter-

As I began walking towards the shelter at which Misty slept, a weird vibe came upon me, like something was wrong. Not something wrong with me, not something wrong with Misty, but something wrong with the air around me. It made me want to push myself harder towards the shelter, but I didn't. I hesitated, an almost dim feel of anxiety appeared within me. After being placed within a position of a wind vane, I skipped steps and raced towards the shelter, entering it. Misty was...gone.

Immediately, I snapped frantic and exited the shelter. My eye's darted through the space between the trees before me. Misty was no where in sight, no where to be found. "Misty!" I yelled. There was not a sound, not even a faded echo. "MISTY!!" The intensity in my voice scared me. It seemed as if it scared everything else as well. For the weather was not gentle. For the air was not thin.

Soon, after the fuel in my echo emptied out, I had found my voice horse and my feet racing. Anxiety welled within me. My heart began to pound, the beats filling my ear's. Frantic was what I was. I wanted to stay in the shelter, anxious at what I might discover or find. But no, Misty had what I needed, and because of this, I was motivated to face whatever lied within the forest ahead of me.

I raced past the trees, tears streaming down my face. I was frantic, scared, and breathless, alot more then I was. My feet almost completely numb, I continued running, not willing to stop, afraid she would be on my heal's, chasing me. With her pale and vein-like arm's outstretched ready to snatch me! Scared, not able to think clear, I could not control my speed. I was almost ready to pass out. Still, I kept going. My chest burning and my throat aching, I managed to scream Peter's name. "PETER!!!!!!!"

I began to choke on my oxygen, following Peter's echos. In desperation of running into Peter's warm protective arm's, I started to pick up my pace, hoping and praying the endless scene of forests would end. It seemed like forever. The fear seemed like forever as well. It would not go away. It stayed within me, slowly increasing.

But then, as the trees illiminated themselves, a bit of hope sparked within me, making me run faster till a space appeared before my eye's. Peter was in that space, frantic as well. And as soon as he sighted me, we both enclosed ourselves within the clearing, both more ready to hold each other then ever. And as I ran straight into his arm's, the feeling of fear faded out from behind me, disappearing. Peter stumbling back, I let out a huge breath, tears streaming down my face. I gripped him tighter, shaking. "Oh m-my goo-goodness, PE-PETER!!!" I continued crying.

"Where'd you go?!?" He yelled relieved, squeezing me. "What happened?!?!" I couldn't speak, I couldn't breath, I was too scared. And to be honest, I could care less how awkward me hugging him was. In fact, I felt far from that. "What's wrong?!? Misty, what happened!?"

Peter asked with eagerness. I just shook my head and tried inhaling more air. Barley able to stand straight, I was falling out of his arm's. He tried holding me to calm me down, I couldn't keep my balance. "Misty are you okay?!? Answer me?!" I shook my head, still breathless. "Are you hurt?!"

"N-no..."

"We need to get back to the shelter, immediately." I nodded with approval, almost relieved.

-First Person/Peter-

We had made it back to the shelter. Misty was able to catch her breath as we sat down. Her face was flushed. I handed her the canteen with newly filled water inside. She opened it and took a big drink. "Th-thank you, P-Peter." I nodded. Passing it back to me, she wiped the sweat from her forehead and cheeks. Inhaling a few deeps breaths, she was able to emit a response to my earlier questions. "I-I woke up an-and you weren't th-there."

"Did you find my note?" She nodded her head and took another deep breath.

"And then I de-decided to wait for you. Th-then," I saw her begin to freak out again, "then I heard the so-sound of a flu-flute-"

"A flute?" She met my eye's, nodding, then looked back down again. With interest, I scooted closer to her, handing her some more water.

"It sounded like an Indian, but I th-thought it was you."

"You thought it was me?" She nodded. My eye's grew wide with interest and I scooted even closer.

Listening in, I muffled my breathing toward where I could hear nothing but her voice. She spoke with apprehension, like something or someone was watching her. She even slid further from the exit, just wishing it had a door. And, strange enough, as the air grew more uneasy, I began wishing for one too.
