“For long the two enemies looked at one another, Hook shuddering slightly, and Peter with the strange smile upon his face.
"So, Pan," said Hook at last, "this is all your doing..." -J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan
-First Person/Peter-
My eyes lit with a fearful wonder as I approached Misty's little shaken body. "What's wrong, Misty?" I asked worried for her and gently I caressed her cheek's with my hands. "Did you have another nightmare?" Misty brought my hands off her face and took me over to our bed. As we sat down, I could feel a little bit of fear pass over Misty's heart and became more fearful then before. "Did you see the pirates, Misty?" I asked. She shook her head.
"No." I was still confused and still a little scared, scared that maybe she did something I wouldn't want her to. "Did anything bother you, Misty?" She shook her head. "Then--then tell me, please Misty!" I yelled scared and impatient.
"Don't get mad okay?" She asked. My fear level increased.
"Why? What did you do?!" I yelled. She lifted her hands in the middle of my talking to lower my voice.
"Will you please be quiet?" She asked. I slowly relaxed.
"Yeah, sorry, I'm sorry...but, what did you do?" I asked quieter and calmer this time.
"Remember when I told you the pirates threw me down a waterfall?"
"Yeah?"
"Well, when I hit the water, I saw something...I think." I suddenly remembered the mermaids tail I seen in the vision the mermaids gave me.
"Oh...okay, what was it you think you saw?" I asked acting completely clueless.
"I'm not sure, though I think it was maybe a mermaids tail?" My eyes widened.
"Did you see blood?" I asked not realizing I was giving myself away. Misty instantly looked perplexed.
"How'd you know?" My eyes widened again. I wasn't sure if it would be safe to tell Misty what I thought about the mermaids because I wasn't sure if they wanted me to tell her or not.
"Well I--well...I," I swallowed, "I just--I just thought maybe you cut yourself on something and bled a little to bring a mermaid back to life." I quickly saved myself.
"Yeah...I think maybe I might've because when I hit the water, I felt a terrible pain in my head and stomach, but maybe the red was the mermaids hair?" Misty questioned. I nearly responded but remembered what she really needed to tell me.
"What did you do Misty?" I asked changing the subject. It was almost as if she was trying to keep my mind off of this thing she needed to tell me. I knew what she told me about the waterfall was not what she was actually needing to tell me.
"Well, Peter, you see, I don't think I did anything." A little bit weight lifted off my shoulders but still, I remained a little cautious.
"What do you mean?" I asked slowly. Misty suddenly rolled her eyes.
"Ok Peter, you can just chill your nuts--" I laughed. "I didn't do anything to betray you if that's what your worried about." She finished calmly. I suddenly sighed gratefully and pulled Misty into a hug.
"Good, I was beginning to think you joined the Pirates." Misty laughed. I grew a little serious. "I'm serious." I protested. She laughed again and escaped my arms.
