Selena...

"Thank you so much officer, we really appreciate you." I say as I escort the last police man to the door. He looks past me at Daniel who was on the couch, staring at the ground. "You're quite welcome.. take care of him. He's going to be out of it for a while." He says and I nod shaking his hand. He leaves and I sigh in relief surprised that they didn't take Dan to jail. I turn around and walk up to Daniel standing in between his legs with my arms wrapped around his neck. "Everything is going to be okay baby.. he's gone now." I say and he pulls me into his lap, hugging me like it's his last. His strong arms pushing my body close to his. "Tell me why you let him do that to you.." He whispers, not breaking the hug. "I was afraid that something would happen to you or Serenity.. you two are all I've got." I respond and he lets me go. I get up from his lap and grab his hand. "Let's go to bed." I say trying to pull him my way, but he doesn't move. "I'll stay down here. See you in the morning." He says looking up at me. I know he's about to drink. I sigh and nod, then I walk upstairs and climb into bed, drifting off to sleep. It's hard to believe he's actually dead..

Diggy...

I sat there for a while thinking. As much as I want to be mad at her, I can't. She did that for her family. I walk into the kitchen taking out a bottle of whiskey from the cabinet; opening it, taking shot after shot. I felt it kicking in and I stumble to the couch, drinking even more as I layed there feeling my eyes getting heavy. I'll be fine tomorrow.. I just can't believe I killed him.

"Daddy?" Serenity says holding a stuffed animal. She was in her favorite dora pajamas. "Go back to sleep sweetie." I say putting the bottle on the coffee table beside me. "Why did you shoot my dad?" She asks rubbing her eyes. I sigh in frustration and hold out my arm. "Come here princess." I say and she walks up to me. I pick her up, sitting her in my lap and she looks up at me. "Khalil wasn't your dad.. I'm your dad." I say getting straight to the point and she looks at me confused, narrowing her eyes as she tilts her head to the side. "Huh?" She says and I laugh a little. "I'm your real dad Serenity..." I say and she wraps her small arms around my neck, hugging me. "Can I sleep with you?" She asks and I lay down on the couch with her on top of me. "If you like the couch, sure." I say tickling her, making her squirm and laugh uncontrollably.

We layed there quietly and just as I was about to fall asleep, Serenity says, "I love you daddy." I smile and wrap my arms around her. "I love you too sweetie."

~The next morning~

"Baby.. wake up." I hear Selena say shaking me gently. "The person you are trying to reach is unavailable.. please leave a message after the beep.. beeeeeep." I say keeping my eyes closed. Selena laughs and kisses me on the cheek. "Dan, today is Serenity's first day of school, I hope you don't miss it." She says and I open my eyes. I wouldn't miss that for anything. "Where is my princess?" I ask looking around and Serenity walks downstairs fully dressed in her uniform, holding a backpack in her hand. "Right here daddy." She says stopping as she reaches the last step. "Come give daddy a hug." I say holding out my arms, she walks up to me and I pull her into a hug and look up at Selena who looked like she was about to cry. "Come on Serenity, let's get you to school." She says and Serenity pulls away. "Bye daddy, I love you." 

I watch them walk out the door and smile to myself. Maybe now we can be happy.. and Selena will stop harming herself. That's the last thing I want her doing. Especially while she's with me.

Selena... 

"Mommy why you crying?" Serenity asks as we walk inside the building of her school. I laugh a little and say, "I'm just proud sweetie. You're growing up too fast." She smiles and I continue walking her to her class. When we arrive, all eyes were on us and Serenity lets go of my hand and sits next to a boy that I knew she knew from pre-school. "You must be Serenity's mother?" The teacher asks smiling ear to ear with a few markers in her hand. "Yeah, sorry we're late.. long night last night." I say looking down remembering what happened. "I'm sorry to hear that. If you don't mind, would you tell Daniel I'd like to speak to him?" She says and I look back up at her quickly. How the hell does she know Daniel? "Umm.. sure. I guess I could do that." I respond looking her up and down suspiciously. She smiles even brighter than before and thanks me. I roll my eyes and walk up to Serenity, kissing her on the cheek. "Daddy will be back later to bring you lunch okay?" I say fixing her hair I pulled up into a sleek bun. "Okay." She responds simply. I walk out the door and eventually out the building. I walk up to my car, getting inside and start driving back home. I don't know about that teacher.. I think her name was Kai or something like that.

"Babe..." I say walking into the house, putting my purse on the coat rack. "In here." Daniel calls out. I sigh and walk into the living room seeing him sitting on the couch, on his phone. "I thought things changed." I say straight forward as I stand in front of him. He locks his phone and looks up at me confused. "What are you talking about?" He responds trying to grab my waist, but I push his hands away from me and cross my arms angrily. "Why did Serenity's teacher ask about you?" I ask as I feel my eyes well up with tears. I know if I look at him they'll fall, and I'm not crying today.. for that reason at least. "Oh, you're talking about Kai? We met at Serenity's party. Nothing to worry about." Daniel says looking up at me relieved. "I don't care Daniel. I don't want you speaking to her." I say starting to walk away, but he grabs my arm, pulling me into his lap. His strong arms wrapped around my torso tightly. "All I want is you Selena... remember that." He says looking seriously into my eyes. I turn away, sighing realizing I need to loosen up. It's almost like I'm forgetting that Khalil is gone. I don't have anything to worry about, and nothing is holding me back. I got who I want and need wrapped around my finger. I lean in slowly and kiss him passionately, our tongues wrestling around.

"I love you so much." He says as we pull away. "I love you more.." I respond blushing. Nothing can break us apart now... nothing...

Diggy... 

"Daddy!!" Serenity yells as I walk into her classroom with her lunch. I smile as she runs up to me, hugging my legs. I bend down to her level and hug her, then hand her the White Castle bag and she walks back to her table. "Hi.. Daniel." I hear a familiar voice say from behind me. I stand up and turn around to see Kai standing there with the hugest smile I've ever seen. "Hey Kai.. did you want to speak to me?" I ask scratching the back of my head nervously. I really can't slip up anymore. "Yeah, I just wanted to tell you that I find you very.." She looks me up and down. "..very attractive." I tense up and so many thoughts are running through my mind. One part of me wants to tell her the same, but the other part is thinking about Selena. But it's just a compliment... right? "Oh really? What if I told you I find you very attractive as well?" I say and she blushes shyly. "Well then I'd have to ask you to coffee sometime..." She continues and I smile. Before I could respond, I felt someone grabbing at the hem of my shirt. "Daddy... I want to go home." I hear Serenity say. I look down and pick up Serenity. "If that's okay with your teacher." I say as I look at Kai and she nods. "See you tomorrow Serenity, don't forget about your homework." Kai says tickling Serenity making her laugh lightly. "Okay Ms. Kai." Serenity says happily. I smile and tell Serenity to go get her things and she walks back to her desk. "She's so adorable." Kai says as we watch Serenity drop things into her backpack. 

"I'm blessed to call her my daughter." I respond and Kai looks down kind of sadly. "I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" I say an Kai nods then I give her a friendly hug. As me and Serenity was walking down the hallway I feel so guilty, and I have no idea why. "I wanna go to grandmas." Serenity  says as I help her into the backseat. More time alone with Selena sounds perfect right now.

"Sweetheart?" I call as I walk up the stairs with a box in my hands, inside it a gold necklace. I don't hear anyone respond so I walk into the bedroom to hear her on the phone in the bathroom. I knock on the closed door letting her know I'm home. She opens the door and smiles at me. "Yeah he just got back... I'll call you later... okay bye." She says then hangs up. She stares at me for a while then reaches up, wrapping her arms around my neck, hugging me. "I missed you." She says seductively and I kiss her neck gently. My phone vibrates in my pocket so I pull away, checking it. Seeing that an unfamiliar number texted me. You killed my best friend huh? The games not over yet Diggy. Selena will be mine. I furrow my eyebrows nervously and drop my phone. "What's going on?" Selena asks worryingly. "It's not over yet."

Yooooo, I'm soo sorry I haven't updated in so long, but I started back to school and they've been drilling us with homework every night. Sorry it's short too. :( Thanks for all the feedback last chapter though, I appreciate that so much!!

But who texted Daniel though???? Kai obviously likes Daniel right?..... Maybe she's part of it......
