Baby It's Cold Outside

♫ Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful. And since we've no place to go... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow. ♫ The speakers blasted throughout the house getting us in the Christmas spririt before dinner with the Simmons'. I finish straightening Serenity's hair and she hops down from the chair and spins around in her dress she picked out for tonight. "Mommy, I can't wait to see daddy!" Serenity says smiling from ear-to-ear as she continues to spin around, her hair flowing as she does. "Daddy can't wait to see you baby girl, go get your stuff together, we're leaving in a few." I say unplugging the straightener. She runs out the room and I clean up everything and gather the things I needed, putting everything on the bed. I look up to see the bathroom door opening and Brandon walking out in his scrubs. I know he doesn't have to work today... "Why do you have that on?" I ask sadly, knowing exactly what's ahead of me. He sighs and pulls a box out of his pocket. "I'm sorry babe, they called me last minute." He says grabbing one of my hands. I hate the fact that he can't spare one day to be with me, this happens all the time. "They always call you last minute." I cross my arms and I feel him grab onto my waist placing soft kisses on my neck. 

"I save lives Selena, and if I can save a few in time for Christmas morning, that'd be perfect. I'm sorry, but it's my job baby." He whispers. I roll my eyes and shift my weight on the other leg (Do you know what I mean or nah? lol). All of a sudden I feel something being wrapped around my neck, and I look down seeing a Versace necklace hanging there. I gasp lightly admiring the gold pendants. "Do you like it?" He asks swaying my hips from side to side. I turn around and immediately pull him into a hug. "Thank you baby." I whisper, kissing his neck just like he kissed mine.

We pull away and he looks down at his watch. "I'll see you tomorrow sweetie, call me when you get home." He says and I nod. He grabs his briefcase off of the floor and opens the bedroom door, stopping just before he leaves. "Love you." He says turning around to face me. I blush at the fact that he never leaves without saying he loves me.. it's like a ritual for him. "Love you too."

~1 hour later~

"I'm dreaming, of a white Christmas... just like the ones I used to know... Where the tree tops glisten, and children listen, to hear sleigh bells in the snow." I sing as I drive down the dark highway, the streetlights and car headlights piercing my eyes. I look in my rear-view mirror to check on Serenity in the backseat seeing she's asleep. I swear, give her five minutes in the car and she's knocked out. I continue to sing along to the Michael Buble CD with Daniel on my mind. All we need is some time alone and I can keep my promise. Just a few hours...

I pull up to 'Run's house', as they like to call it, and park the car in the driveway. There's already other cars here so I know Angela, Vanessa, and JoJo are here as well. I've missed them. I get out of the car, grabbing my purse, then I walk to the back door and open it, seeing Serenity rubbing her eyes tiredly in her car seat. "Be polite to the people you haven't met yet, okay baby girl?" I say unstrapping her. She nods and I help her out of the car. I stared at the house, remembering everything that happened here... since day one. Serenity looks up at me as if saying 'What you waiting for bitch?' so I smile and walk up to the front door, ringing the doorbell. 

The door opens and Justine smiles widely, pulling me into a hug. "Oh, I've missed you honey." She says running her hands up and down my back lovingly. I smile and she pulls away looking down at Serenity. "Hi sweetie." She says picking her up Serenity smiles and hugs her. "Grandma!" She yells. Serenity wouldn't be herself if she didn't yell. We walk inside and it's oddly quiet, so I assume everyone is in the movie room. "They're upstairs, dinner will be ready in about an hour or so." Justine says walking into the kitchen. I take a deep breath and turn to the staircase, seeing exactly who I was expecting.
