Today had been an awful day. You felt like you couldn’t do anything right at work. It just seemed like one problem after another and it got bad enough that your boss told you to take a half-day and head home. You cried the whole way home and up until you opened the front door of you and Harry’s flat. You jumped when you saw Harry come around the corner. You had no idea he was home.
“Babe? What are you doing home so early?” You only shook your head because you didn’t think you could actually get any words out without crying all over again and you definitely didn’t want Harry to see you upset. You tried to walk past him to the room you two shared, but he wasn’t having that.
“Hey, hey, hey.” He said grabbing your arm and pulling you into a hug. You couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. You pressed more into his chest, which seemed impossible and cried. You felt Harry bring his hand up to the back of your head and rub his fingers through your hair. He always did this to comfort you. He picked you up and brought you into your bedroom and sat down with you still in his arms. You both sat there for around an hour while you cried and he whispered soothing words to you over and over again. Once your sobs finally subsided he pulled you out of his chest and wiping any sign of remaining tears away.
“Now are you gonna tell me what has my beautiful girl so upset?” He said before placing a sweet kiss on your nose. You sighed and began to tell him about the dreadful day you had and hoped to never have to deal with again. Harry was always a good listener, which was one of the many things you loved so much about him.
“I’m sorry you had such a bad day, (Y/N). I know it may seem like the worst day ever, but just know that you’re one of the strongest people I have ever met and if anyone can get through at hard time it’s you babe.” He cupped your face in his hands and brought your head up so you were looking at him. “You’re beautiful and smart and looking back on all the stuff you’ve put up with and gone through with me I know you can get through this.”
You smiled and nodded leaning in and giving him a sweet kiss. You were still pretty upset, but Harry’s words definitely took some of the stress off of you. He pulled away from the kiss and placed a kiss on your forehead.
“I’m going to go take a shower. When I’m done I’m going to make you a delicious dinner and we can watch a film or two. Deal?” You nodded and gave him a small smile. Once Harry had left the room it almost felt like a part of you went with him even though he wasn’t far. You realized that you just needed him. Harry was right in a way, you could get through anything, but you needed him by your side. Everything you’d been through he’d always been there with you. He was your rock and you couldn’t live without him.
You quickly got up and went into the bathroom. You smiled at the sound of Harry’s angelic voice floating through the air. You quickly peeled off your clothes and pulled open the curtain, catching Harry off guard.
“Babe, what are you-” You didn’t even let him finish his sentence you wrapped your arms around his torso and pulled him close to you. He only took a second to wrap his arms around you.
“Please don’t be upset baby. I hate seeing you like this.” You pulled back and gave him a quick kiss.
“Thank you.” You whispered just loud enough for him to hear you. He chuckled.
“For what?”
“For being my rock. For always being there for me and never giving up. You’ve helped me through thick and thin and I honestly don’t know what I would do without you. I love you so much, Harry.” He didn’t say anything and he didn’t have to. He ran both of his thumbs over your cheeks as you both stared into each other’s eyes in silence. He brought his lips to yours and gave you a passionate yet simple kiss before pulling you into a hug just like the one earlier when you got home. He ran his fingers through your hair and held you tight as you both stood under the hot water.
“I love you too.”
