Tobias POV

I end up lying in bed with the lights off thinking about two things: Melanie and Kylie. All of the things Kylie said about her childhood brings back memories of when we were together. We would hang out after school each day and complete our homework while laughing about the events that happened during the day. She was the smartest, funniest, and most beautiful person I ever knew because she was the only person I knew when I was in Abnegation. When I transferred to Dauntless I never heard of her ever again. She said she was going to go to whatever faction I chose but she never did. She chose Abnegation. Her brown wavy hair pulled up into a bun, a long grey dress, and her beautiful brown eyes glancing my way were the last things I saw before she got lost in the crowd.

I can't imagine what is happening to Melanie right now. From what Tris told me it could only be bad. He could be hurting her right now or he could be running tests on her. We need to find her soon or it may be too late.

The door unlocks and locks again as I sit up and stare at the darkness. "Tobias?" Tris says as she flicks the light on in the living room. She takes her coat off and hangs it on the hook next to the door. "In here." I sit up and turn the lamp on that is sitting on the night stand next to me. Tris walks towards the bedroom with her arms folded across her chest.

"Hey." She leans against the frame of the door and runs her fingers through her now tangled hair. "Sorry I was out so late. Christina and I got caught up talking for awhile." She walks over to the bed and plops down next to me. "It's alright." I bring her into my embrace. She leans her head against my chest and wraps her right arm around my chest and rests her hand on my face. "I'm so scared. I don't want to loose her." She looks up at me with tears welling up in her eyes. "I-I can't do this anymore." I pull her close and kiss her forehead. "It's going to be okay. We will find her." We lie there hand in hand, her head on my chest listening to my heart beat. She soon falls asleep with her face nudged next to mine. "I love you." I whisper to her before I too fall asleep.

My eyes flutter open as Tris gasps for air. I instantly become alarmed and it up to find her next to me with her eyes open. "Bad dream?" I ask as I lie back down next to her and pull her towards me- into my embrace. "Yeah." She turns herself over to look at me. The sun is partially up but it's still dark. "Thank you." I look at her in confusion and lean closer to her. "For what?" She leans her head back onto my chest. "For never leaving me." I smile and lean in to kiss her but a noise from the living room stops me.

We both sit up and look in the direction of the sound. "What was that." I get up first and she follows. I hold my arm around her as we creep closer to the door. A few knocks at the door. "Who's there?" Tris asks from behind me. "Kylie. I need to show you guys something." I open up the door to find Kylie standing there with a gun in her hand. "What's with the gun." I nod my head towards the gun grasped in her hands. "Precaution. If they choose to come back I can shoot them. Now come on I need to show you something."

Tris and I follow her down the hallway and stairs. "So what is it you need to show us at-" I look down at my watch. "Five in the morning?" "Well we were able to get the cameras working and I think we might have found who took Melanie." She leads us through a few more hallways until we come to a stop at a door. She opens it with her free hand and gestures for us to come in. Surrounding the interior of the room are three screens and a computer. Gus stands at the computer replaying the same clip. "Gus show them the clip." She turns around to face us. "I think you guys may know this person." Tris and I look up at the screen to see a man in a black hoodie walk down the hallway with a little sleeping girl in his arms. His hoodie falls down as he turns around and faces the camera. He doesn't notice the camera and continues to walk away. Gus stops the video right at the moment where the man looks at the camera. Tris' hand leave my grip and she starts freaking out. "What is it?" I ask as I look at her. "Yo-u don't see it?" I stare at her confused. I turn around and look at the screen closer then I get it. The man's dark shiny hair, his long and narrow nose and his dark green eyes can only be one person. Peter.
