Chapter 7

Tobias POV

   "Well, well, well. We meet again Tobias. Or do you want me to call you Four?" The hand trails away from my shoulder and onto my face. I jam my finger into the button on the flashlight until it finally turns on. What I see completely shocks me. In front of me stands the notorious Nita. "What the hell are you doing here Nita?" I point my gun towards her chest. "Oh Tobias, you wouldn't want to do that." Her hand lowers my gun away from her. "What do you want." I hold my hand on the sos button but don't press it yet. "What do I want?" She laughs then continues. "I think you know what I want." My heart drops. She wants me. "No way." I shake my head and point my gun towards her again. "I have something you want, and you have something I want. Maybe we can make a deal." "What do you have that I want?" "Are you seriously that dumb Tobias?" She rests her hands on my shoulder which I push away but she puts them back. "If you ever want to see your daughter alive I suggest you do what I want." A villainous smile appears on her face as she kisses me. I instantly jerk my head back. She comes closer and kisses me again. As she kisses me even more I hover my finger over the sos button and press it as many times as I can but nothing happens. "We should go before your friend comes to find you." She whispers softly into my ear. I have this feeling that I should punch her and run away but something keeps me from doing that. That something is the little hope that I hold onto. The hope that Nita isn't lying. That Nita knows where Melanie is.

   Nita walks behind me as we go down the stairs. "If you try anything stupid I won't tell you where your daughter is." I nod and continue forward with my gun drawn. In the corner of my eye I spot Uriah against the wall with his gun pointing at Nita, staring at me. He raises his eyebrow and mouths What the hell. I shake my head -slightly so Nita doesn't see- and mouth run. His body disappears around the corner as we walk away. "Where are we going?" "You'll see. Turn right." I walk to the right with Nita behind me. A truck lies in front of us hidden by the shadow of the building. "Get in." Nita shoves me in the back of the truck and takes my gun for herself. My hands are bound to the wall as I watch the city disappear.
