The Runaway [READ THE DESCRIPTION]

Chapter 6

The two guys that had the knives moved on to the next room and when the guy with the gun emergwed from the room he was in, like the others, he moved towards the room. They're searching for me...

 

"Mommy? Whats going on?" Kason asked me.

 

"C'mon baby, we're leaving." I replied as i grabbed my back pack and scooped him up. 

 

I ran to the back of our room looking for some way out. There was no way we could get out the front unseen. Luckily I found a fire escape. I peered out the window leading to the fire escape and didn't see anything except woods in front of us. I quickly climbed down the fire escape as I heard the men getting closer to my room. We finally made it to the ground unharmed and I ran into the woods. I ran far enough into the woods so I couldn't be seen. I turned around once I was in the woods just as a man appeared at the fire escape. I started to back farther into the woods when I saw him and I kept backing up until I ran into something. Or someone... I held my breath then felt a hand cover my mouth and I felt someone breathing by my ear.

 

"Don't scream. I not going to hurt you!"

 

The voice sounded all too familiar. The hand stayed put over my mouth. An arm was now put across my waist and I was pulled closer to the person behind me. I tried squirming out of grasp but it was useless. My captor was clearly stonger than me. 

 

"I won't hurt you. Do you promise to not scream? I don't want those guys to know we're out here."

 

I shook my head yes and he released me. I quickly turned around. Too quickly. I lost my balance and fell into a bush with Kason. I checked on him first then looked up when a hand appeared in my vision. 

 

"Brayden..." I whispered.

 

"Kara?!"

 

"What are you doing here?!" We exclaimed at the same time.

 

"I've been on the run since you kicked us out." I responded, now aggravated.

 

"Us?"

 

"You know. Me and our son?" Now I was getting angry.

 

"Oh! Yeah..."

 

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

 

"I-" He started but I cut him off.

 

"And where did those cuts come from?!" I asked now noticing the cuts on his hands and wrists.

 

"Are you gonna let me talk now?" he asked an annoyed look crossing his face.

 

I smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. Go on." I replied, a blush creeping its way onto my face.

 

"I had to punch the fire escape window out. It wouldnt budge. I jumped out of my room and off the fire escape when i got half way down just as the guys bust in my room. I hid and then when I knew they were gone, ran off out here. I think I sprianed my ankle when i jumped down though. i heard a pop." He explained, looking down at his ankle while pain spread across his face. "What about you?"

 

I explained to him about waking up and seeing the men then taking off for the fire escape with Kason. 

 

"Who's Kason?" He asked.

 

He was really starting to piss me off now.. I lifted up Kason to show him who he was. "You  know. our son?"

 

"Oh." His face fell.

 

"Are you seriously still mad about me having him?"

 

"No. Its just..."

 

"What? Ashamed?!" I said as I got in his face.

 

He pushed me away. "No. I feel guilty about leaving you. I was only thinking of myself at the time. It was a really stupid move to do that."

 

"Oh." he really knew how to guilt trip me.

 

"I really am sorry Kara. I truely am."

 

"Prove it."

 

"I want to be a part in his life. I want to be with you two. I really do." By now, I could see his eyes watering like he really meant it. "Will you ever forgive me and give me a chance?"
