Chapter 16

Aiden's P.O.V

"There's something going on with the council, they would never just take away someone's mate!" Jackson yelled. Jackson was currently on my office as mad as can be. The whole pack is mad, someone dare come on to our land and try to take their Luna. Warriors across the pack went ballistic when they heard the news. Cara tried to calm him down but she couldn't. I ordered her to go and keep Everly company, while I deal with him.

"Jackson calm yourself! Before I make you!" Jackson took deep breaths in and tried to calm his inner beast. "Are you okay?"

"Yes. I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me."

"You're a beta of the hybrids your inner beast wants to protect the one who makes us stronger, but you need to control it, if you don't you may hurt someone." Jackson slumps into a seat and holds his face in his hands. "My dad has connections and he is going to figure out why the council is doing this." Jackson nodded his head, and inhaled a deep breath to calm himself. A light knock came upon the door made Jackson and I stand our ground. When Cara walked through the door we calmed down, Jackson got up from his seat and walks to his mate. She whispers to him something I could not make out, when they were done talking they looked to me.

"Everly wants you." Jackson says. My heart skipped a beat thinking something was wrong. "Don't worry nothing's wrong, she just wants her mate. I'll have the warriors set up around the land, you go focus on her and your child growing in her." He grabs Cara and heads out the door and back home.

I focus on her scent and make my way up to or room, I quietly walk into find her on the bed in nothing but a sports bar and leggings. She was on the computer looking something I couldn't make out, and listening to music. I kick off my shoes and make my way over to her, I lay down by her and lay m head on her lap. She smiles down at me, and takes her head phones out.

"Hi their mister." She strokes my hair and send me into a calm state. "I could feel you stressing out from all the way up here. What wrongs?"

"Jackson and all the men in the pack heard of the threat against you. They all went cray, even the females but not as crazy as the men." I close my eyes and take in a deep breath. "The council knows what happens if you threaten a hybrid pack member, especially the Luna, no wait especially thee pregnant Luna." I turn my head and kiss her stomach which sends her into a fit of giggles, making me smile.

"Well try not to worry about it cause this Luna, isn't going to go so easily. My dad called saying that he has a warlock friend that owes him a couple favors that is willing to come and stay in the pack lands so he can set up a barrier that only who we deem safe to pass. Also I also did something that may or may not be good." I sit up and look at her.

"What did you do?"

"Well I may or may not, made a call to an old friend I remember from my childhood before the whole memory thing," She looks down at her hands.

"Babe who did you call?" I go to her side and hold her close.

"You remember Lilly?" She tries to give me a little smile, my eyes widen to the point I think that they are bulging out of my head. "Don't get mad please."

"Oh, I'm not mad." I get off the bed and being to pace. "I'm furious! Are you crazy? You called the Alpha Queen! We can figure this out on our own."

"Aiden calm down okay, all I ask for was protection, she and her mate will be sending 50 warriors to help guard the broader, and they are going to get with the other royals to discuss the council." She is on her knees, facing me on the bed. "I have lost you all once for reasons we still do not know, I can't lose you again. Not now not ever!" he was started to get stressed I hear her heart racing.

"Hey stay calm, you don't need to stress, that's my job okay, all you need to worry about is keeping that little bean inside you safe." I wrap my arms around her and she does the same. I kiss her head and just hold her.

Everything that has happened to us has sent our lives into a huge spiral. She was taken from me at a young age, both of us made to forget each other till we meet again, and now they want to take her away again. I can't and won't let that happen, they would have to kill me before they even think of trying to take her again. She is my life, everything my father taught me about being a good mate, a good man, and a good alpha is starting to come in handy. Even though Maria did not birth me she is my mother, he taught me how to care for my mate she taught me the value of love. My parents are the reason why I have Everly, and why I will never let her go.

Our sweet moment was ruined when Everly's stomach growled. Letting out a huge laugh, she turns red and laughs with me. "Come on let's get you two food." I lift her up and over my shoulder, making her laugh and start to hit my back. Once we get to the kitchen I plop her down on the counter and go to the fridge and look for something.

"So, what is my lovely mate going to cook for me tonight?" She says with a giggle to her voice.

"Well with the nothingness we have in the fridge why don't we order some pizza." Before I could even pick up the phone, a huge bang came from the front door. "Stay here." I run to the door, and outside to see my front lawn set on fire, with a message. Pack members were quick to get it out, My dad and Jackson ran up to me, my blood began to boil at what was written.

I will have her and you can't stop me.

"Aiden!" Everly screamed for me, I run back in the house to see her being dragged out the back door. I quickly grab ahold of the man and snap his neck, another one came at me, all I had to was punch him and he was out like a light. Everly was on the ground shaking tears pouring out of her eyes. I grab ahold of her arm and pull her up and into my body.

"Get her to the pack house now, Jackson take him to the cells, I'll deal with all of this." I look to my dad. "I know that look Aiden, and no you need to worry about her and your child, now go!"

I listen to him and get her the hell out of there.

At this point my dad calling the shots is what I need. He knows what to do I don't, all I know is I need to be with Everly. And then ill deal with whoever did this later.
