Rachel felt a rush of adreniline and worry. She was the real hier? She was responsible for the fate of the world, she was counted on to change the world, the human race. She felt sick, but she kept a strait face, and kept her head laid still on his shoulder. She was extremely nervous about what could happen. Do other people know that she is the real heir, are people already even after her?! athe more she though the more light headed she felt.
"You see, after we heard about you, after your parents send us the message that you were alive and well, we had to bring you here. It wasn't safe for you to have these abilities and be in that state of mind where many memories were gone." Toby continued to explain.
"what do you mean you guys found out I was alive and well?" Rachel asked.
She lifted her head up and looked at Toby worried. He looked at her and cringed, If I do tell her, then it might change her perspective, it might hurt her.
"Toby, I want to know." She demanded.
He bit his bottom lip, "Rachel you were in an accident that left you in critical condition, we all thought you were dead. Your mom and dad had a way of communication between Giro and I, we were trying to get you guys here. But when we heard about you getting attacked-"
   "Attacked?!" Rachel blurted.
Toby winced, "Merrisa knew about your mom, being the heir and she did everything to stop her from taking the throne away. She had her guards follow you after school, and yeah.... You were in a coma for 84 years, your parents died keeping you alive and they kept you in a hostpital where you drempt of everything you thought was real. Everything, you thought after your 9th birthday, was fake, it wasnt real. That's why you thought it was 2016 when you woke up." He said.
"I-" Rachcel reached up and tougche her forehead and felt a small scar, the accident and a rush of memories flooded her brain. Two men, stomping on her head, being dragged away, and then the blood.
A small tear ran down her cheek and she felt Toby's thumb brush across her cheek wiping it away.
"you're alright now, now that you're here. We'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe, I promise." Toby muttered.
Rachel nodded and sat up, she wiped her face. She sniffed a couple times, "Thanks, now I know what's actually going on."
Toby looked down and bit his lower lip, should he really have told her all this, maybe it was a bad idea. Her knowing this infomation she could turn on them any time. And it would be his fault, his fault that he told her. He looked down, maybe this wans't the best plan.
"Don't stress aobut it, I-I'll find a way to fix this." Rachel said and paced bak and fourth.
Toby looked up and saw Rachel combing her fingers through her hair, and her face flushed.
Toby got up from his seat and went over to Rachel, "I shouldn't be the one stressing Rachel, the revolution isn't until 6 months from now. Until then we'll train and make sure your ready."
Rachel sniffed and tears threatened to fall but she wiped them away from her sleeve. She nodded,"That should be enough time right?"
Toby looked off to the side,"Yeah." He lied.
Truth was it was never going to be enough time and they could alway go anytime but the town decided what time and what day, to give them a due date. Toby really wanted to go already, to put a stop to Mellissa. He knew it would be to much pressure on Rachel.
There was a knock on the front door.
Toby pured his lips, "Come in."
The doorknob turned and the door opened with Giro standing in the doorway.
"Toby, you alright man?" He said.
He came inside and stood with his hands behind his back, Toby pursed his lips again. He walked off into a room and Rachel stayed behind. She watched Toby shut the door behind him. Rachel turned to Giro, "Am I really the heir?"
Giro's eyes widened and he seemed panicked, "Toby! How much did you tell her!"
"Enough for her to know!" Toby yelled back.
Giro frowned and he turned to Rachel with his hands up in defence, "I am so sorry."
Rachel cocked her head to the side, "Why are you sorry, it's fine!"
Giro groaned and rubbed his temples, "No it's not fine!"
He stomped his foot like a little kid, "Toby get out here now!"
The bedroom door knob turned and Toby poked his head out, he seemed annoyed and pissed, "What?"
Giro marched himself over to him, "What did you tell her?! She can't be stressed out even more! This could ruin the mission!"
Toby rolled his eyes, "The mission will still work."
Giro's face turned bright red, "Don't you understand this could be a hazard?!"
   Rachel frowned, "Giro I'm fine!"
Toby shrugged and disapeared behind the door. Giro growled and ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. He turned to Rachel with a frustrated look, "Can't you please try to reason with him?"
Rachel shrugged then nodded. She turned away from Giro and went inside Toby's bedroom without knocking. She was immediantly surrounded with all sorts of instruments that she recognized and some she didnt. String, woodwind, brass. They were hung on the walls and racks. These instruments littered the room. She was surprised at how large it was, like a small store, maybe bigger. She looked around, flutes, guitars, saxophones, tubas, violins. She wondered down the isles until she came to a door, small and full-on wood. She took a look around the room one last time. It was dark and silent, which confused her with all the different instruments hanging there, dead. It was dusty and sent chills down her back, it made her feel uneasy. She turned the knob of the door and went inside and there was another room, Toby was sitting in and nodded chair in front of a desk. He fondled with something set on his desk.
"Toby?" Rachel asked and quietly shut the door behind her.
Toby spun in his chair and faced Rachel. He had large glasses on and he pushed them onto his forehead where it disapeared in his messy hair.
Rachel looked around. There were more instruments hanging on the walls and there was a large sturdy bed with lots of blankets mounded on top. The room was bright and it must have gone into and not her building because there were windows where the light shown through and blinded Rachel.
He stared at her silently, "What."
Rachel gulped and tried to recognize the instruments hung on the walls, "G-giro sent me."
Toby rolled his eyes and leaned back in his chair, "That pain in the ass."
Rachel nervously chuckled and fiddled with her fingers while her hands were tucked behind her back, "yeah."
She walked a bit foreward and looked at the instruments, "What is this place?"
Toby got up from his chair with a slight pop coming from his knees as he stood up. He set down a screwdriver he had in his hand on the table and set his glasses down again too.
"My life." He said, "Also my room."
Rachel nodded and looked down at her feet, "What's it for?"
Toby looked at his collection of instruments and chuckled with a smirk, "To get away. It's what keeps me ticking."
Rachel nodded and bit her bottom lip, "I played Saxophone in middle school..."
Toby nodded,"Back when they appreciated music more?"
   Rachel nodded, "I guess."
Toby nodded and went to a wall and picked up a random Saxophone and held it up, examining it to make sure the springs were all intact and he pushed down all the keys, and side keys to make sure none of the pads stuck.
He nodded approvingly, "Here's a Tenor right here, found it in the burn pile in the Beauty division. That's where they put all the instruments like they were ashamed."
He handed it to her and she carefully took it, there was already a reed attached to the mouthpiece with a ligature.
"Really?" She said and put her thumb under the thumb rest.
Toby nodded, and watched as Rachel tried to remember the notes to songs she played, he watched how her eyes fluttered as she played Jazz. Anything funky, Toby laughed as she squeaked and released her lips from the mouth peice and laughed. She handed it back to Toby and he hung it back on the wall.
"It plays really well. You collect all these?" She said.
   Toby nodded, "It's a habbit."
Rachel looked around, "Why is Giro so obsessed over you?"
Toby laughed and blushed, "He's gay..."
"Ok. That's normal. I knew a couple guys who were gay, they were pretty cool." Rachel admitted.
Toby chuckled, "yeah he is pretty cool I guess when he isn't a pain in the ass."
Rachel and a small snort came out. Her eyes widened and her cheeks became flushed with embarrassment, she covered her mouth with a giggle.
Toby through his head back, laughing historically, that tears rolled down his cheeks.
"That wasn't suppose to come out." Rachel said quietly.
That only made Toby laugh harder, he backed into his bed and fell, sprawled across the mattress.
Both of them didn't know Giro listened, pressing his ear against the door, with a broken heart.
