~~~MADIHA's POV~~~
No, he is not real. He can't be. I looked away from him and told the driver to drive as I reached out for the door. Before I could close the door, it opened wide again and a hand grabbed my arm. I panicked, looking up at the man as he bent down a little to reveal his face.
"Kasim?" I managed to utter.
No, he is anyone but Kasim. I kept telling myself while he ducked down to look at the driver.
"You can leave, She is coming with me. Keep the change," He spoke as he passed him a couple of notes and the driver nodded at him. My breath hitched when he turned to look at me.
"We need to talk," his deep voice, laced with authority, like always, made me shiver. It wasn't him who scared me, it was the fact that this man is supposed to be dead.
"Madiha please," he sighed when I didn't move. I blinked, looking down at my lap before stepping out of the car.
Gathering much courage, I looked up at him and found him staring at me. His face looked a lot heavier than before; even though he had a beard, I could still see the sharp edges of his jaw. Those piercing brown eyes were still the same. The scar on his forehead made him look a lot tougher than I could have ever imagined. He seemed to have put on a lot of weight too, or maybe those were just his toned muscles. I couldn't tell because of his blazer.
This man was completely different from Kasim; no way they could be the same person. No way he could be alive and living here, leaving us to suffer.
I had a feeling that everything was going to come crashing down once again. I didn't want to be told the life I have lived for the past many years were just a lie. That the man I was dying for was always alive. That the man I had so much respect for was never worthy of it. A part of me didn't want Kasim to be alive.
"Who are you?" I found myself asking him. I wanted answers and he had them.
"Kaisi ho?" He casually asked, ignoring me, and I huffed in anger. "Main ajnabiyon Se baat Nahi karti."
He sighed and stepped forward. "Jaanta hoon naraz ho mujhse. Isiliye Maafi maang ne Aaya hoon."
I instantly stepped away from him, narrowing my eyes at him in disbelief, "Maafi? Kis baat Ki? Aap hein kaun?"
"Kasim hoon main," he spoke a little louder and held my arm, pulling me closer, "tumhaara Kasim."
I blinked at him, too stunned to make a move. Everything had stopped moving around me for a moment. My throat felt dry.
"Nahi," I managed to whisper as I stepped away from him again, "Nahi lagte aap mere Kuch. kyunki Jis Kasim Ko main jaanti Thi, woh Marr chuke hein."
