I clutch at his hand as tight as I can, as if it'll bring him back. Drew wriggles around, obviously pained by the rapid possession. I wish I could just take away his pain somehow but there's no way I could convince Lucas to leave him, he knows how I feel about Drew. How I really feel about him. And it's exactly what he wants from me. Well, maybe my V card too but he ain't gettin' that for sure. Not that he's going to get my love either, but still.
All at once, Drew stops moving, stares straight at me, and smirks. Then it's obvious it's going to be a lot harder to get him back than I thought. I still keep a firm grasp on his hand, it's like holding onto a little piece of Drew that might still remain. I look to Megan and Landon and Megan has somehow gotten Landon to sit up.
"Rain, what's wrong? Are you okay?" Megan says as she notices the tears staining my face.
I shake my head, "He's got him now."
"Do you want me to get the stuff?" Megan asks, trying to help but she only brings on more tears. In movies, exorcisms always ended in the possessed person getting hurt but surviving. I don't want Drew to hurt at all.
I shake my head, "I can't do it, Megan. I just can't."
"Can't do what?" Lucas's brown eyes become alert and fiery. He's full of the energy that I have given up on using.
I glare at him, "Get rid of you."
"Just don't want me to leave? How sweet." Lucas taunts. I didn't like him controlling Landon's body and I hate him for controlling Drew's.
"Just the opposite. You won't get the hell out of him!" I yell at him, wanting to cry.
He sits up and sets the hand that isn't in mine on my face, "Oh baby, trust me. I'm much better than him."
"Oh really? I bet Drew wouldn't ruin a couple's happiness for his own selfish needs after he was dead. And who did? Hmm? Oh that's right. You." I shake my head so his hand falls from my face. My hand is all Lucas is getting. I'm just hoping hat some small part of Drew is who's claiming it.
"No need to get feisty, babe. I'm just doing what you said to do: 'try and find someone or something to occupy my existence. It'll make it a whole lot better.'" Lucas says, slapping me in the face with my own advice, "And you're my something."
I frown, "Uh, no. Just because you jump into the body of someone I care about doesn't make you him. I don't like you. I like Drew and you aren't him. Period." I know that was the wrong thing to say when I feel anger radiating off of him.
"Do you really want to mess with me when I'm in control of him?" Lucas threatens, pointing to his chest, "Because I think he's getting a little dirty. And he might need to take a bath.....with a hair dryer in it."
"No, no. He's not dirty. He's fine." I assure him quickly, not wanting to take any chances with Drew's life.
Lucas smirks, "Oh, Rain. You're clearly forgetting that I have access to his memories. And according to his memories of last night, he's not the only dirty one here."
"Stop that. Now you're just being creepy." I say, "And nothing even happened anyways, so why are you making such a big deal about it?"
He takes a step towards me that isn't meant to be flirty or seductive, but it's clearly one of a threatening nature, "Well the way I see it, I can do whatever I want to this body and when I'm done, I can just leave. There's no harm done to me. Just your pretty little boyfriend. So if I say jump, it's in yours and his best interests to ask how fucking high."
I cower back a bit and regret it instantly. Lucas grins and closes the gap between us, pinning me to the wall, his hips against mine, "Uh, Landon? Megan? Help?" Megan rises like she's going to come to my aid but with one swift wave of his hand, Landon and Megan go flying into a bedroom and the door slams behind them.
