Waking Up

"Up!"

That morning, Emilia and Harry Potter woke up to the oh so sweet sounds of their Aunt Petunia yelling at them to get up. She woke them not a moment too soon though, because Harry was having a strange dream. And by the looks of it, Emilia was too. In the dream, there was a green light, an evil laugh, a high-pitched scream, and a motorcycle.

Harry and Emilia have had those dreams before, but they've never really put thought into them. They always just figured it was from the night their mum and dad died in that car crash.

"Harry," Emilia's scratchy morning voice rang. "Did you have it again? That dream?" She sleepily took her red-orange hair out of it's pony tail, letting it drop over her shoulders as she yawned.

"Ew, get a breath mint," Harry joked. She laughed and threw her pillow at him. He laughed and did the same.

"You have horrible aim! Where are your glasses?"

"Dudley took them, remember?"

"Oh, yeah," She rolled her eyes. They were exactly like Harry's; electric green. They were both pale, and about the same height. By looking at them, you wouldn't tell they're twins, but they have a lot in common. For one, both their hair grows at a freaky rate. Harry's may be jet black, and Emilia's may be bright red, but both their hair grows way faster than it should.

One time, Aunt Petunia even took Harry for a hair cut, cut it all off, and the next morning it was back to its shaggy self. Another time, in school, Dudley (their cousin) decided to be the jerk that he is and cut off Emilia's pony tail. Her hair barely passed her shoulders, but the next morning, it was exactly the same length as before Dudley chopped it off. The last thing they have in common physically is a lighting shaped scar they share. Though, Harry's is on the right of his forehead, and Emilia's is on the left side of her forehead.

When they finally got out from their cupboard under the stairs, they went into the kitchen. As usual, they were warmly welcomed with the yells of their Uncle Vernon.

"Get a hair cut!" Uncle Vernon yelled at Harry. "Put on some makeup!" he yelled at Emilia. Harry clenched my fists at his uncle's insult to Emilia, but she put her hand over his and looked him in the eyes. She shook her head no, and he understood.

She'd already done something.

Harry was really fast, which came in handy when Dudley wanted something to hit.
Emilia was fast, but not very. She wasn't that strong either, but she's smart. She knows almost all the pressure points and certain nerves that can affect people and where they are. That also comes in handy, for Dudley is very dumb, and doesn't know much about that type of thing. But another awesome thing about Emilia is that since she's so smart, it makes her the ultimate prankster. Back to "she had already done something," it means she's already set up a prank on Vernon, so Harry didn't need (to attempt to but fail) to beat him.

They were pretty clever for two ten (almost eleven) year olds.

The cloths they wore were big, baggy, and about 4 sizes too big for them. Since there were no other girls in the house besides Petunia, Emilia, like Harry, used Dudley's old cloths.

"You two!" Petunia yelled, bursting into the kitchen. She grabbed Harry by the shirt and shoved me over to the stove. "You, cook the bacon," She turned and grabbed Emilia by the hair. She winced at the pain, but didn't bother trying to get away. "And you, cook the eggs. And try not to burn anything, you two."

Okay, so Aunt Petunia usually was on edge with them, but that day was Dudley's birthday. Yay for them.

If it wasn't already clear, Dudley didn't get along with Emilia and Harry very well, so Harry and Emilia always stayed with a lady down the street, Miss. Figg, on Dudley's birthday. She was old and smelled like cabbage.

As they were cooking, they'd heard Uncle Vernon on the phone with Miss. Figg. Emilia nudged Harry in the side and pointed at him on the phone.

"What! No! Not today!"
"Well then get better now!"
"It's his birthday! We can't risk taking, taking them with us."

Harry and Emilia shared a smug smirk as they went back to cooking the bacon and eggs. Through lots of arguing, complains and whining from Dudley, Harry and Emilia were finally decided to go with the Dursleys to the zoo for Dudley's birthday.
