**Fred's POV**
I couldn't believe what we just saw.Snape and Quirrell. Snape was threatening him, in the forbidden forest, at midnight. This was some sketchy stuff!
We ran back to the Gryffindor common room, but as soon as we said the password and the portrait opened my eyes sunk.
There they were. Sleeping with their heads rested on each other. They weren't even cuddling, hell they probably didn't even mean to fall asleep. But for some reason it hurt.
Harry wasn't so understanding...
"What the hell are you doing sleeping next to my sister?!" Harry yelled. I had to cover his mouth so that no one would wake and hear us. We had to tell someone right now, and they just so happened to be here.
Both of them shot up abruptly, confused and disoriented.
"How long were we out?" George yawned. Emi shook her head, as if to say "I don't know." Harry had calmed down, so that was a plus.
"You'll never believe what we saw!"
"A unicorn?" Emi said sarcastically. When she met my gaze her roots turned slightly green before fading to their normal hue.
"No, it was Quirrell and Snape. They were in the forbidden forest and Snape was threatening Quirrell about 'adjusting where his loyalties lie.' whatever that means." Harry rushed out in one breath.
"Maybe it's about the philosopher's stone?" Emi suggested.
"I'm sorry the what? The sorcerer's...?" George asked , confused.
"Not sorcerer's, philosopher's." Emi corrected.
"Same difference," George grumbled.
"What are you guys doing?" Hermione's voice rang from across the room. We looked over to see a grumpy Hermione standing at the bottom of the girls staircase. "It is 12:34AM, and I am in no mood to-"
"What's with all the ruckus?" We looked over to see Ron at the bottom of the boys staircase. Good, the entire gang was here.
"We think Snape's trying to get the Philosopher's Stone," Harry spoke.
"Why would be do that?" Hermione questioned.
"I don't know, why does Snape do anything?" Ron grumbled.
"He probably wants to get rich. The stone does turn some substances into pure gold," Emi spoke. I was taken back slightly at the sound of her voice. I hadn't heard it in so long.
"We should tell Hagrid, he'll know what to do," said Harry.
With that, we all tried our best to fit under the Invisibility Cloak, but not all of us could fit. George and I decided to stay behind, while the group of first years all scuttled away, into the darkness outside of the portrait.
"Fred, we need to talk."
**Emilia's POV**
We knocked on Hagrid's door, invisibility cloak off, just hoping he'd let us in and not send us back to the castle."Oi! Hi 'Arry, 'Ermione, Ron, oh and 'Melia! How's yer head doin' these days? Look, I'd love ter chat, but I'm in no fit position ter be entertainin' today," the giant said as he began to close the door.
"We know about the philosopher's stone!" I yelled, shocking everyone. He opened the door wide again.
"Oh..."
He motioned for all of us to come in, and that's when the wave of heat hit us in the face.
"Uh, Hagrid, why's it so hot in here?" Ron asked.
"Oh, um... er, I uh, I'm takin' care of a lil' project is all," he stuttered, sweating (though we all knew the sweat wasn't from the heat in the hut). "Would yer like some tea?"
"Of course, Hagrid, that'd be lovely," Hermione said sweetly.
Hagrid placed down four big plates, four big mugs, and one even larger plate full of what looked to be scones. He started to pour us tea, but his mind was obviously elsewhere because he was overflowing each of the cups.
"Now enjoy, I put out me nicest mini plates on ter table along with some scones. Now, dig in," Hagrid said sweetly. He was honestly the closest thing to a father figure Harry and I had, and I loved him for that. He hand made us a cake for our birthday, frosting and all, then he let us sleep on our decision to come here and when we woke, he had breakfast ready for us. Now he's all shaken up and I want to help him as he did for us.
"Hagrid what's wrong?" I said weakly.
"Oh, Emi, nothin's wrong, I'm just a bit busy is all. But never too busy for you four..." he trailed off. He was trying to get us to forget about the philosophers stone. Not that he didn't love us, but he was hiding something. Everyone was hiding something.
"So about the philosophers stone..." Hermione treaded those waters carefully. "What's guarding it?"
"Fluffy. The t'ree headed dog you saw."
"Oh and he's a lovely dog, Hagrid. He was so calm and gentle." Everyone looked at me with disbelief as I said it. "Misunderstood creature, he is. Misunderstood."
"See tat's what I say! He's harmless, just play em a lil' music and he falls right ter sleep!" We all looked at each other.
"And, is that the only thing guarding the stone, Hagrid? Or is there more?" Hermione asked gently and charmingly.
"Erm, t'ere's protections put inter place by some of ter professors. Sprout, Flitwick, McGonagall, Quirrell, and Snape-"
"Snape? But he's trying to steal it!" Ron exclaimed. Hagrid looked taken back- offended almost.
"Now why would Professor Snape try ter steal somet'in' he's tryna protect?" Hagrid questioned. I looked over and Harry. He was just as confused as I was, but I believe what my brother said. Maybe we just got it all wrong...
My thoughts were interrupted by a slight tapping noise coming from the cauldron hanging over the fire.
"Hagrid, what is that?" Harry asked.
"Out of ter way!" Hagrid rushed over to the cauldron with oven mitts on, reached in, and pulled out what looked like a giant egg. He ran over to the table we were sitting at and carefully placed the egg down right as we all moved our tea and scones out of the way. Placing the cups and plates on the floor, we all looked at the... the thing.
"Hagrid?" Ron asked cautiously. "Is that... a dragon egg?"
"Er, yeah. How'd you know?" Hagrid questioned.
"My brother Charlie works with them in Romania. But Hagrid, however did you get one?"
"Bought it off some Irish fella down at the pub. Seemed quite glad ter get rid of it actually..." Hagrid scrunched his eyes, thinking. He quickly shook it off and stared at the egg, as the shell slowly began to crack.
Before we knew it, there was a baby dragon in front of us. In a wooden hut. This should end well.
"That's a Norwegian Ridgeback!"
"Right indeed, Ron. Right indeed." The dragon looked at Hagrid. "Oh, and look. E' knows 'es mummy," he said as he scratched the dragon under its chin.
"Um, Hagrid, how do you plan on hiding a dragon?" Hermione asked, completely shell shocked.
"Oh I'm sure Norbert here'll be good, right Norbert?" Hagrid said, more-so directed at Norbert.
I looked up slightly towards the window of Hagrid's hut, and pursed my lips when I met his eyes.
