Part 5

The night you shared with him was wonderful. You didn't do anything but lie in his arms and watch the stars from the sky roof, sharing your memories of each other, and sharing a kiss here and there. But that's what made it so wonderful, just being with him, spending time with him. That's when you know it's true love, when all you need is each other's company and you're set.

You two talked over the plans together, setting a date. He gave you back your wedding ring, which you gave him on the night he left. Now you wear it on a thin gold chain, tucked under your robes so no one will see. Ben's new favorite thing is to place his hands on your belly and wait until the baby feels it and gives him a kick. It surely doesn't feel good for you, but you're happy that Ben can connect to his future son or daughter in some way before they're born.

You wake up the next morning before him. It used to be the other way around, where he would wake up first. But ever since you discovered you were pregnant, it became hard to sleep in no matter how tired you were. You get out of bed and look out of the windows in the cockpit, admiring the forests of D'Qar from a distance. You want so badly to step outside the ship and explore the forest, but you know it would be safest for you to stay inside.

Ben wakes up soon after you, surprising you by wrapping his arms around your swollen waist, kissing your neck and shoulder. "Good morning." He whispers in your hair, and as he leaves kisses you can feel the smile on his lips pressed against your skin.

"Good morning to you too." You reply, turning around in his embrace and staring up at him. "I wish we didn't have to part ways again." You sigh lightly.

"I wish you could stay as well. But that wouldn't be wise. Soon we'll be together again. That's a promise." He tilts his head down, enclosing the space between your faces with a loving kiss. Oh how you'll miss his kisses, his warm embrace, and the caring tone of his voice when he speaks to you.

Reluctantly, you two say your goodbyes, savoring your last kiss and missing the touch of his hands as soon as you leave his ship to board your own. But you set off to travel back to the First Order's base, trying not to let your yearning for him distract you from getting back and acting like none of that just happened. After all, Phasma is the only one who knows where you've been. And Snoke won't be happy when you return.

So you start thinking of what you're going to answer his many questions with.

You're drawing near towards the base, so you turn on your communicator and tracker signal. A voice comes across your communicator. "Identify yourself, traveler." It says.

"It's I, Commander Y/N. I am returning from a trip. You may scan my ship." You speak into it, and they open the large hatch to let you into the base.

Phasma and Hux were alerted of your return and are there to greet you when you walk out of your ship. "Welcome back, Commander." Phasma says. You nod to her.

"Supreme Leader Snoke wishes to speak with you at once." General Hux says.

"Thank you. I will meet with him as soon as I can." You reply and a stormtrooper carries your bags to your room. You dress yourself in your chambers, wearing what you'd usually wear on the base.

"Where did you go, Y/N?" Is the first thing he asks. He doesn't look happy.

"I took a trip to the planet Rhinnal. They have the very best doctors and medicine there, and I wanted to get a thorough checkup to make sure my pregnancy is going well." You say to him, keeping your head held high.

"We have doctors here on the base, Y/N. I don't believe that trip was necessary." He says.

"It may not seem like it was to you, but this is my child. I am carrying a child and I'm going to do everything I can to make sure he or she comes out healthy. And I'm back, after all. It's not like I left forever." After you say these words, you can tell he is not enjoying your attitude.

"Very well then. If there's something you're not telling me, you know is would be most wise to just say it. Because I will find out one way or another." He says, and that's the last of it.
