It's definitely been a few hours since Peter has left to figure out our first date, and manage to surprise me. So, I look through my cupboards since I was working up an actual appetite. The only thing I really wanted weirdly enough was Cheeze-Itz and I had none. I grabbed my keys, and threw my hair in a bun. Time for some shopping. At least snack shopping. I don't really know what's going to happen tonight or tomorrow, or at all come to think of it.
Driving alone today kind of felt peaceful, and right. Maybe I should stay. There is so much I have to do here. Why didn't I think of any of this before? I have to go to the courthouse. The funeral home, and his funeral needs to be taken care of. No one else would do that for him. Once I get to the store I quickly run through and grab everything that I was in the mood for then head out as quickly as I came.
On my way home my phone rings. "Hello?" I answer.
"So, I got a cellular device now, love." He grins straight through the phone. Oh, man.
"What the old teleporting way was no fun?" I laughed while turning into my driveway.
"Hey, I still enjoy doing that. People that look my age have cellphones though! You said I have to blend in."
I went to open my mouth to say something, but quickly shut it and smiled. He is actually trying this time. "Yeah, I did." After that we hung up, and I headed inside with my groceries. I started to clean up around the kitchen by picking up the broken glass from my dad, and throwing away the empty bottles. I swept the glass off the floor, and wiped down the counter, tables etc. I cleaned out the fridge, and took out the trash.
The door swings open. "Well, you've definitely been keeping busy." Peter grins with bags in his hands. He hands me a pink, paper gift bag, and smiles. "Go put it in."
"You didn't buy me lingerie, right?" I laugh.
"I am not a perv!" He yells, but can't help but to laugh too because he is a bit. I laugh more, and then go to peak in the bag. "Don't look! Look upstairs while you're changing." He rushes me up the stairs, and I run the rest of the way excited to see what he has in store.
I shut my bedroom door, and put the bag on my bed. I take out the paper, and take out a beautiful teal, high-to-low, lace, strapless dress. My jaw dropped. I hear fast footprints to my door and knocking then footprints leaving. I open the door to find a box and a note. It read, 'can't forget these!'. I blush, and open the box to find white heels. Tears filled my eyes, and I quickly got dressed into what he got me. This made me even more anxious to find out what he had in store.
I started down the stairs carefully to see Peter in a tux at the bottom with his hand out. "Wow." He breathes out, and looks me up and down. I fan my eyes with my hand to stop from ruining my face with running mascara, and he takes my hand. "You look breathtaking, love. My shopping skills are definitely on point."
"Oh no, you picked up some of the slang." I laughed, and tripped to the last step and into Peter's arms.
"Well, you are quite the catch." He winks. I get back on my feet, and roll my eyes. "If you were going to cry with just this? I don't know if we should buy a box of tissues before we get to the heli pad." He looks me up and down then takes my hand as we head out the door.
"Wait, you said what?" I question him about where we are heading to.
"Nothing, love. Close your eyes, and believe in me." We stand face to face in front of my house, our fingers interlocked, and I shut my eyes and believe.
The next minute I know the wind picks up, and I open my eyes to see that we're on top of a building! There's a cute little table for two in the middle of it, and two roses in a vase at the center with a little green candle to match the tablecloth. "You definitely added you to it." I giggled, and he glared at me.
"It's my favorite colour." He pulls out my chair for me, and I sit. "Uhm, do you like it though?" Peter sits looking more nervous now, however only for a second.
"Everything looks beautiful, Peter." I smile, and watch the candles flame in his eyes. He smiles back, and a man in another tux comes out with a tray in hand. "On tonights menu is medium rare steak, sautéed veggies with a potato salad."
My mouth waters as he puts the plate in front of me, and I bite my lip. "Look good, love?" Peter asks, and picks up his fork.
"How did you plan all of this out in a matter of a few hours?" I stare at him in shock.
"Try not to act too surprised why don't you." He smiles at me. "What can I say? Magic." That sweet innocent smile turns back into that famous Pan grin.
"You are too much, Peter." We start to dig in and talk away the night.
I didn't even notice the time until I almost fell asleep on my hand. "Getting a little sleepy there?"
"Yeah, we should probably head back." I smile, tiredly.
"Okay, love. Let's get out of here." He took my hand, and as quick as it took me to blink. We were back at my house.
I trudged up the stairs, and slipped out of my dress and into bed. Before Peter could even get out the words my eyes drifted shut, and his words faded to nothing. Until I was lost in the void we call sleep, and dreams.
