(Taylor's POV)
"See that wasn't so bad now was it?" I said as Laura and I finally made it to the park.
"It's so hot!" She complained.
"Stop whining you big baby."
"I'm tired."
"We just got out of the car. We've been walking for literally 2 minutes." Laura looked at me with a sad face. "Fine we can sit down."
I looked for the tree with the most shade. "Oh there's one." I walked to the tree and sat under it. Laura followed. "Laura! Look this is our tree." I exclaimed.
"Our tree?"
"Yes our tree! This is the tree where I asked you to be my girlfriend. Remember?"
"How could I forget. It was the best day ever." I blushed at the comment.
"You know what would complete this moment?"
"Um... Us kissing!"
"Really close but no. It's chocolate chip cookies!"
"How was that even remotely close to what I said?" She chuckled.

{Flashback}Taylor rested her head on Laura's shoulder and listened to the birds. "This is all so perfect. I finally got the girl of my dreams." Taylor let out.
"You truly are living the life kid." Laura replied.
"I really am." She grabbed Laura and pulled her into a searing kiss. Laura pulled away a little too fast and it surprised Taylor.
Laura looked at ground in front of her. She thought about the commitment she was making. Laura usually didn't worry about much but one thing she does worry about constantly whenever she's with Taylor is falling in love and letting love ruin her. It has happened before and ever since then Laura has been extra careful with her feelings. She has tried not to get too attached to people. She feels as if everyone she gets close to will break her heart. At one point Laura built her walls so high that it was impossible for anyone to climb them. That was until Taylor came along and pulled a string in Laura's heart. Taylor leaped over each wall in a single bound and it amazed Laura.
"I have to admit that all of this is a little scary to me."
Taylor frowned. "Don't. You shouldn't be scared. If you're afraid that I'm going to hurt you then you can stop right there because I will never hurt you so don't even think about that."
"It's not you it's just, relationships in general always intimidate me."
Taylor could see the hurt in her eyes. It made her wonder what was really wrong with Laura. Not too long ago Laura did say that in her past relationships she was always the one getting hurt. Who was dumb enough to break her heart? How badly is she damaged? Is their anyway that I can fix it?
"You shouldn't dwell on the pass. Don't let one bad experience ruin you. The past should be left in the pass otherwise it can destroy your future."
"It's just... I don't know Taylor."
"Listen Laura, I may not be able to fix all of your problems but I promise you that as long as I'm alive, you'll never have to face them alone. You have to remove all doubt from your mind. I assure you that I'm way different than anybody that you've ever been with before. I will stand by your side and be there for you no matter what. Don't let doubt take over your mind. It could possibly taint our relationship and I really don't want that to happen. You can't shut love out. Please don't give up on us before we even get started. Give me a chance. Give us a chance." Taylor gave a small smile hoping that that'll cheer Laura up a little.
