Chapter 19: Painful kisses

Ethan and I are going great.
Even though we're not dating I have a feeling that we might. I mentally scowl at myself for thinking ahead. He could just think of me as a friend, that he occasionally kisses and holds hands with. Ethan isn't much of a hugger which disappoints me a little. I love my hugs. Pulling out of my trance I look at Ethan and my hands joined under the lunch table. Turns out Ethan fits in pretty well with my friends, which is great. Ethan and Jason are talking about who-knows-what. I look up and see Megan grinning at me waggling her eyebrows. I groan covering my face with my free right hand trying to hide my blushing face. I look at Ella who is staring at Ethan and I quiet strangely I raise a brow at her. She shrugs.

"Ah shit. I gotta go. Don't wanna be late." Ethan jumps out of his seat, dropping my hand. I looked at him slightly surprised.

"Do you want me to come with you?" I ask, Ethan looks down at me.

"Nah." He shakes his head, " I don't wanna make you late either." He bends down and places a kiss on my forehead. He gives me one last glance before walking away.

"Ohh. Looks like your boyfriend is leaving." Isaac comments, I send a glare his way.

"He's not my boyfriend."

Not yet, anyway.

Woah.

"Right. Cause people who aren't boyfriend and girlfriend hold each others hands and kiss each other." Elizabeth mutters, I feel myself blushing so I gently rub my face hoping the I could just rub the blush off.

"We haven't kissed... Can we just....talk about something else?"

Megan laughs but thankfully changes the subject, telling everyone about her and Jason. I look down at my salad and sigh. I wasn't sure what Ethan and I were. Are we even a thing? Or am I just keeping my hopes too high? Wanting the answers to my questions I jump out of my seat racing towards Ethan who, thankfully, wasn't out of the cafeteria yet.

"Ethan!" I shout catching up to him, I get a few looks but I ignore them. He stops and turns around, concern written in his cute face .

"Hey, are you alright? What's wrong?" He asks, I stop in front of him a panting mess.

Why did I run?

"Just....give..... Me .... A .... Minute." I pant. He laughs but waits nether less. When I finally regain my breath I ask him the question that has been on my mind.

"What are we?" I ask him, his eyes widen softly before he smiles taking a step closer to me.

"What do you want us to be?" He asks, tucking a strand of my wild hair out of my face.

How cliché.

"I...I...." I swallow, "..is... There an us?" Ethan takes another step closer, if that is even possible.

"Ash, we're more than that." He tells me placing his right hand on my jaw.

"We are?" I ask, slightly panting as his head comes closer to mine. He grins,

"We are."

He closes the gap and places his lips softly on mine. I sigh into the kiss wrapping my arms around his neck and into his hair. Whistles go around us but I don't hear them.

This is nice.

His hands leave my face and wrap themselves around my waist, bringing me closer to him. We both pull away, breathless. He places his forehead on him.
