Chapter 1 | The First Day

First day of school. Not gonna lie, it's hard. I've never had problems with being in school or studying, but right now I can't focus on anything. He's everywhere. Yeah, I know we had a really bad break up during summer but still, my mind is completely on him. I have no idea how to get through this, it's gonna be hard enough seeing him standing in the hallways, but sitting it the same classroom as him? Even harder..

"LYDIA!" - my thoughts have been broken by the sound of Allison's voice.

"You've been thinking about him again?" she said

"How did you know?"

"Well, we were talking and all of a sudden you froze, right in front of the school."

"Oh..." i said in a low tone, almost like a whisper. "I'm sorry, I just.."

"It's okay, I get it. I've had break ups too." Allison said with a small smile on her face as we linked arms and walked in school.

We opened the door and it was kinda nice. Everyone looked at us, and I knew exactly what was going through their heads. Allison and I, we were the queen B's of Beacon Hills High School, and everyone wanted to be our friends, to come to our parties, sleepovers.. All the boys had our eyes on us. All, except one. Stiles Stilinski. The hottest guy in our school. Captain of the lacrosse team. Perfect. And I liked him, so did every other girl at our school. But he didn't pay attention. It was slowly driving me crazy.

As we were walking to our lockers, Allison said something, and my blood froze. There Jackson was, so perfect, standing and talking to his friends. Shit, he saw me. Oh my freaking god, he smiled at me. I'm gonna kill that bastard, I hate him so much.

"Lydia, he smiled at you.. Jackson smiled." Allison said

"I know.. I just, I don't know how to feel."

"Did you smile back?"

"Of course!"

"Then we'll leave it on that. Yeah, he could've come to us and say hello but after the break up that you guys had... Smile is a good thing."

I love Allison. She always knows what to say and how to calm me down, she's so smart. I have no idea what I'd do without her.

The bell rang. It was time for the first class. Biology. Allison sat behind me as we saw Stiles and one other guy walk in, and the only available seats they found were right next to ours. Shit. He didn't even look at me. Or did he? Okay, I have no idea whats going on with me. I shouldn't feel this way. Especially because he doesn't want me. No.

I noticed Allison talking with that other guy, they look cute. I also noticed Isaac, Allison's ex looking at them like he's gonna murder both of them. He's a nice guy, but hes sooooo jealous. That's why Allison broke up with him actually.

"Hey" I heard a voice say. I turned my head a little and there he was. Stiles. Looking at me. "Do you have a pen?" He continued

"Yeah" i said as I took one from my bag to give to him

"Thanks."

He smiled. I smiled too.

And I completely forgot about Jackson. All I could think about for the next day was him. And his smile. And I thought "shit, I can't be doing this again."

But he was perfect. So perfect actually.
