"Hey cowgirl!" Luke said as he walked up the steps of our sorority house just as I was walking out.

"Hey Luke, sorry about last night. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"It's fine, I mean Megan told me that you had a hard past so I won't ask you any more questions about it. I was here to check up on you and see how you were doing, but by the looks of it you look like you are doing good." Luke said.

"Hey, would you like to go hang out sometime?" I asked.

"I would love too. How about tonight?" Luke said.

"That would be great." I said.

"I'm really sorry about last night, I didn't mean to make you cry." Luke said as he pulled up to a barn at his ranch house.

"It's not your fault, you don't know my past." I said.

"But I would like to know so that I don't screw it up again." Luke said.

"I'll tell you when I'm ready." I said.

"Ok. Horse ride?" Luke asked as he climbed out of his car.

I followed Luke up to the barn and Luke helped me up onto one of his horses.

"So, where are we going?" I asked.

"Just for a little ride." Luke said before reaching over and placing a cowboy hat on my head.

I smiled before racing Luke to the end of the field.

"So, tell me a little bit about yourself." Luke said.

"I've already told you about myself." I said.

"Yeah, but tell me more." Luke said.

"Well, I was four years old when I last saw my parents." I said.

"You don't need to tell me this." Luke said.

"But I want to tell you." I said.

"Ok, I am all ears." Luke said.

"Well when I was four years old there was a war going on where I lived. My parents shipped me off to Utah to live with my aunt and uncle so that they could keep me safe. I was shipped off along with a bunch of other kids. This necklace, my mother gave me the last day that I saw her. I still remember watching her and my dad disappear as the train went further down the tracks. And that was the last time I saw them." I said.

"Wow, I can't believe you went through that at such a young age, and to have that moment carved in your memory." Luke said.

"Yeah, It was not how I wanted to remember my parents." I said.

"Yeah, should we head back?" Luke asked.

"Sure." I said.
