Chapter Twenty-Four: Everything Has Changed

Seth's Point Of View:

It has been a month since Sky disappeared. I have searched every where he could've gone to, but nothing. I read the note every chance I got to see if there were any hints on where he left, but nothing showed. I had gone around the town, asking people if they had seen him, but no luck. He was gone... He was gone....

I sat down on my bed, head in my hands, as I started crying. 'I should've just stayed with him....' I thought of every scenario for why Sky hurt himself. The one that stuck out to me was when I told him I wanted to get my work done. 'He probably thought I came and just had sex with him because I wanted to... that's why he looked depressed when I said that.'

I laid down on my bed and began to fall asleep.
---------------------(Time Skip: Morning)--------------------

I did my usual morning routine. Get up, read the note, brush my teeth, put on new clothes, read the note again, then go to school. I drove by some areas that Sky might show up to, but he never did. I had called him many times, but he never responded.

I pulled up into a parking space and walked into the school building. Another shitty day has begun. I went up to my first period class to see Jewel already sitting there. I sat next to her, and she gave me a sad look.

"He hasn't showed up yet... has he?" She asked, my eyes just began to water. She got up and hugged me. It wasn't one of her seductive 'let me rub your crotch' hug, it was a sincere one. I hugged her back, and tears started to fall from my eyes. The bell rang and we took our seats as I wiped the tears away. An hour and a half later, the class ended and I left to orchestra. I dropped my stuff off and headed to the bathroom. I splashed cold water on my face, and read the note again.

'Where are you?'

"No! You shut up!" I heard Jewel yell. I started to walk out of the bathroom to hear what was going on.

"What do you mean 'shut up!' That fucker is the reason that shooter came! He is the reason my friend died!" A boy yelled. I recognized his voice as one of Eddie's friends. I almost went out to punch him but I heard him cry out in pain. I looked to see him holding his crotch while kneeling on the floor.

"It is not his fault! You have no idea what he has been through and if you say anymore of this shit, you're gonna wish you didn't when I'm through with you!" She walked off angrily. I felt pride in her that she stood up for Sky. I walked out of the bathroom, and he came over to me, still holding his crotch.

"You! Just because you started dating that bitch, the shooter—" he started, but was interrupted.

"Jace, stop!" I expected Jewel to be coming, but I saw Eddie.

"You better shut the fuck up, before we beat you up." Eddie said to Jace. Jace just yelled, outraged, and walked away. I turned to Eddie, unsure of what to say. He patted my shoulder and disappeared behind a corner.

'Well that was strange....' The bell rang and I ran back to the orchestra room. I unpacked my cello and sat in my spot. Sky's seat was still empty. Mr. Hunt didn't move anyone in that spot because he was sure Sky would return.

"Okay guys, so I was thinking we should play this piece for the concert." He started passing out the music. When I looked at it, my eyes started to tear up. It was 'Over The Rainbow'... Sky's favorite song. I looked over and could tell Violet, Cristina, Amita, and Lily knew it too. We got ready and played. We played it beautifully for our first time, but it could use some work in some parts. Mr. Hunt just smiled.

"Okay, we are definitely playing it." He let us pack up after playing through the rest of our music. When the bell rang, I left the classroom and headed to my third period. This day could not be going any slower. I got into the classroom and put my head down.

Finally, school was over after another gruesome three hours.  I was heading to my car when I noticed someone staring at me. It was Eddie. When he saw I noticed, he looked away. I didn't think about it and went to my car. Before I left, I read the note again. Nothing new. I started to drive home, but decided I should check a few places again. After realizing he wasn't back, I went home.

I walked inside my house and face-planted on the couch. Before I could start thinking about a plan to get Sky back, the doorbell rang. I groaned and went to the door. I flung it open to see Eddie on the other side. He just came inside without an invitation.

"Look, I'm sorry about Jace." He said as I just stared. "I know you two have gone through a lot, and I'm sorry that I just made it worse. The reason I acted the way I did was because, well, I didn't know how to act."

I continued to stare at him, now looking more confused. He got a little closer and put a hand on my shoulder.

"I'm sorry about Sky..." He whispered, and he came in for a hug. I, for some odd reason, returned the hug. He pulled away and we just stared at each other. Suddenly, he leaned forward and started kissing me. I kissed him back, then pulled away.

"I-I can't..." I said, but he didn't listen and got closer.

"You can't be alone forever..." He started kissing me again, but this time I didn't break away. Our tongues battled for dominance and, in the end, I finally won. I didn't like how he put up a big fight. I grabbed him and took him upstairs to my room. He grabbed at my shirt and took it off as I took his.

I didn't want to be alone anymore.

Sky's Point Of View:

I can't believe I did it, and I regret it. I looked at the scars that lined up and down my arms. A tear fell down my cheek. I was going to go back to Seth... not now, but I will.
