Seth's Point Of View:

'Hey sweetie, I'm coming to the orch concert tonight, I have to talk to you about something'

It was a text from Jewel. Great she's coming... just when I got enough courage to talk to Sky. I was still in my house, the concert was in an hour, but I had to be there in thirty minutes. I just laid in my bed, not wanting to get up. All I wanted to do was think about my plan to make Sky mine.

"Hey honey, shouldn't you be getting ready?" My mom asked walking in my room.

"Yeah... but I don't want to go," I answered, still pissed that Jewel was coming.

"Why? You told me you were excited because you were gonna talk to Sky?" She said sitting by my legs.

"Jewel is gonna be there."

"Oh my lord, that girl again!? I've never liked her. Why did you even start dating her in the first place, you can tell she is trouble from just looking at her!

"Because I was waiting for someone like Sky to come around so I wouldn't have to come out alone! At least then if everyone rejects me, it won't hurt as much because I have him!" I yelled, hoping my dad didn't hear any of it.

"Well I think you should just break up with her."

"Can't she'll get pissed and she will probably ruin my life at school," I said, thinking of all the evil things she could do to me.

"Then get her to break up with you!"

"Mom how am I supposed to do that, I already know she doesn't really like me, she is only dating me for my looks. Nothing will get rid of her. Not even if I cheat on her. She will just say 'you better not do it again'," I said mimicking her high voice at the end. The door opened and my dad walked in.

"What's this I heard about you breaking up with Jewel?" My dad questioned.

"Dad, I don't like Jewel, and she doesn't like me. Plus I like someone else," I said hesitantly.

"But Jewel is perfect for you! But I can't force you to date her... Tell me about this other girl," he said. Fuck. What am I supposed to do.

"Well... They are very kind, good at school, very cute... They love to play the violin," I answered trying really hard not to say 'he'.

"Well is she a cheerleader or in any sports?" He questioned.

"Nope." That's all I said, and I knew he was really disappointed.

"Then why do you like her?! You are a football player, for gods sake! You should be with another athlete or cheerleader!" He yelled at me, causing my mother to jump in.

"Hey Daryl! We don't get to decide who he falls for!" My mom yelled, grabbing him by the arm and dragging him out the door. "Seth get ready for the concert, you have to be there in twenty minutes."

I hated how my dad always pictured me as the big football player that needs to date a cheerleader.

"Hey Seth," my sister, Emma, said walking in. Emma is eleven years old, but acts way more mature than that. She is short with blonde hair, like my moms. Her eyes are brilliant blue. My sister got her looks from my mom while I got my looks from my dad. The only difference between us and our parents were our personalities.

"Let me guess what that argument was about... you want to break up with a girl because you found someone else... and Dad was mad that 'she' wasn't popular." She said, putting quotes around 'she' because she knew it was a boy not a girl.
