He stared at the barrel of my gun as he fell to his knees.
" You don't have to do this."
Tears stung my eyes in a fury of emotion. But this had to end. I had to be the good guy. I breathed deeply aiming the rifle at his skull.
" I wish that were true," I whispered... And pulled the trigger.
