#Romance
A storm brewed deep within the heart of England, stirring and manipulating the wind. The clouds released their weapons as they fell upon the Earth in heavy showers, and the thunder shouted at the lightening to stop its revenge.
A single drop of water hit the window with force. Ashlyn jumped, placing her hands on her chest, surprised from the sudden loud contact upon the glass. She wiped a wild strand of hair framing her face, behind her ear, and searched the outside window for a sign of some light.
A small glow of candlelight reflected against the window, swaying left, than right again.
" Come here. Step away from the window, Darling." A sneaky arm steadied itself around her waist and pulled her into its lap.
She glanced at her husband, who wrote with pensiveness, and traced his worn face with her eyes.
" The storm is getting worse." She twisted the silk fabric of her nightgown between her fists.
"Hmm," He hummed softly, continuing to fill the paper with neat words and handwriting.
" I don't think it will pass." Ashlyn spoke in a needy voice, trying to find her husbands focus.
He didn't reply, and a yawn slipped passed her mouth, as she covered her face. More evidence of the approaching storm, hit the window harder until multiple raindrops raced down the foggy glass. Ashlyn glanced curiously around the dark room. A small shudder riding up her spine.
A clap of Thunder rattled the window and an eery flash of lightning brightened the room for an instance. Ashlyn cowered back, trying to hide her oncoming anxiety.
She felt a small kiss, placed upon her bare shoulder, and relaxed briefly.
" Its nothing but a storm, my dear. It will pass too," Her husband said gently.
Ashlyn grasped the semi-comforting words, but a ripple of fear wormed inside her conscience, knowing something always came after a storm.
Every story started in a storm. The lightening. The thunder. The rain. They were all the beginnings of a broken start and a beautiful ending. But that was only in the hopes of the storm passing...
