Here is a prompt that I wrote the other day, originally as a poem, that I decided for myself would be a kind of post-apocalyptic world lol. I don't know. I hope you enjoy, maybe one of you geniuses can find a better story for it.

She woke with dread in her chest. And when she fell asleep she hoped the morning would be better somehow, but it never was. She tossed the cotton sheets aside, rubbing the sleep she never got, away. Her legs were restless, pulling her from her place. Her eyes roamed to the window blinds, which hid the disastrous world on the other side. She stumbled towards a dusty mirror and gazed inside. A vacant, tired stare looked back. She tucked rebellious strands of hair behind her ears and closed her eyes for a fleeting moment.
The house was dead quiet. No birds. No voices. Just the soft humming of the ceiling fan, spinning and twirling rhythmically.
She should have gone with them... she should have listened. And now she was alone, hoping to get through it all without anyone else.
Now it was just her against the world she used to know.
