Watching and Hurting

200 7 1

Shes sitting on the edge of the bed,

With another black eye,

Another cut,

Another bruise.

He sees it,

And feels his heart break,

Again.

Like a million times before.

She refuses to talk.

And she refuses to cry.

In her eyes,

He sees she wants to die.

But he is a helpless boy,

Trying to comfort her after the fight.

When nothing,

but that man can comfort her,

With just three simple words,

and a promise.

He knows that man,

Will never give that to her.

He knows she'll suffer,

Till he's gone.

She is strong,

But is she strong enough,

To endure his wrath?

No one, no matter how strong,

Is invincible.

And what he really fears,

Is one night,

She just might not be here.
