Alexis' POV

I haven't talked to Wes for a week now. Drew keeps dragging me around with all his friends. It hasn't been awful but I could tell some of them are getting annoyed. There all at the beach right now, drew told me to come down but I needed time to myself.

My phone buzzed, it was on the coffee table in front of me.

--Keaton

Hey lex, haven't seen you in awhile! Wanna go to the beach or something?

Uhg this means getting out of the house. Better than spending the day with my brother again. I responded to Keaton and grabbed my stuff. We met up at the beach, I noticed he was in some pain. "Hey Keats haven't seen you in awhile!!!" He smiled and gave me a hug. I must have squeezed a little to tight cause he jumped in pain. "Im so sorry! You okay?" He laughed, "ya I just got stitches on my back so it kinda hurts. He told me the whole story while we were sitting on his towel. "Lex, what went down with you and Wes? He isn't the same..." I looked him in the eyes seeing everything that happened that night. "Ummmm... Well... My brother doesn't like Wes because they have had this bad relationship. When he saw us together he kinda freaked pulling me away." I tried to say it as fast as i could because it hurt. i felt pain when this topic would ever rise, but Keaton just nodded. "He has had me stay by his side all week. Shit!... Oh my gosh I was suppose to meet up with him and his friends." Keaton didn't move, just kept his eyes out on the ocean. I started packing my bag up when a hand held my wrist. It was Keaton's. "don't go." He kept his eyes on the water. "What?" I heard what he said but was so confused. "Don't leave. Drew wont know. It's Wes he hates anyway. Not me." I laughed, just the way he ended his statement made me grin. I guess he was right. Drew cant keep me away from ALL my friends. It was silent, but not awkward at all. Just a relaxing silence. "Are you gonna still hang with Wes?" He caught me off guard and I had to think about this. "Umm ya, I guess." I said it for Keaton's sake. But honestly I really didn't know. I wanted to, but I know drew would kill me. Keaton could see right through me, "drew cant control your life and who you are friends with you know?" I didn't expect that from Keaton. Wes yes, but not Keaton. There was another silence. Keaton turned to me, "you get that right? You like Wes and he likes you. Drew cant ruin that." He had this look in his eyes that I have never gotten from anyone. It was like a look of belief (I know that sounds weird, but really it was because he believed it so I believed it and everybody should believe it.)

I went home that day with only on thing on my mind. Wes. I just wanted him. Needed him. I needed to feel his presence, the way he lit up the room. I didn't care about his cheesy remarks or what drew thought. I liked Wes and that's all that mattered.
