The day after Nightwalker's ranking test.
It was the middle of the day. Nightwalker was patrolling the walls of Firestorm when she noticed an evil energy. This presence. I've felt it before. "Drachen! Show yourself!" Shouted Nightwalker. She knew Triston was near by so she shouted to get his attention. Nightwalker jumped off the wall and looked cautiously for any signs of Drachen. She saw nothing. Nightwalker thought she had just imagined it and turned around to go back to her post. But when she turned around she was no longer in Firestorm. She was in a place she knew all to well. She was in the dwarven city of Moldur. A once beautiful city filled with happy dwarves. Nightwalker walked through the beautifully crafted halls of Moldur looking at every statue of every dwarven King. The dwarves were the greatest craftsmen in the entire world. Unlike the humans who had lords for every village the dwarves had Kings. Every dwarven town was either under ground or in a mountain. Moldur was the eastern dwarf kingdom. Nightwalker turned the corner at one of the marble and gold pillars. Who she saw standing their brought her to tears. Nightwalker saw her best friend Bazok. Bazok was one of the warrior dwarves. He had a red beard and red hair. He was a buff little dwarf. After wiping the tears from her eyes Nightwalker shouted "Bazok!" But Bazok didn't turn to look at her he was talking to someone. Nightwalker ran to him. Bazok was talking to his wife. Drailie? Bazok? They are both dead. How can this be. Nightwalker looked around confused and leaning on a pillar was herself. Moments after seeing herself the other Nightwalker disappeared. Nightwalker turned back to Bazok who had finished talking to his wife and was now facing her. Nightwalker knelt down to hug him. But as soon as she touched him he turned to ash. Soon the whole place changed. Nightwalker was then standing outside of the dwarven kingdom. What she saw was horrifying. She saw the day the whole kingdom was destroyed by a black dragon with purple eyes. Then nothing just, blackness. That was all Nightwalker could see. She soon woke in her new room at the guard tower. She was laying on her bed. Triston was pacing outside the door. Triston then noticed that she had awoken. "Nightwalker are you alright? I found you passed out on the wall." Said Triston with a worried tone. "Yeah. I'm fine." Said Nightwalker in a sad tone. She stud up and closed her eyes and teleported to the forest just outside of Firestorm. She climbed a tree and sat on one of the branches. Nightwalker hadn't teleported too far away she was within walking distance to the gate. She sat their and sang a song written by the northern dwarves.
In a land to the east
Lay a place of joy and peace
Little did that last

A dragon came and killed them all
Men and woman and child alike
The few who escaped were torn
To fight again they said
To free the mountain from its curse

To kill a dragon of darkness
To bring back happiness
To never see their brothers
To never see their sisters
To never see them burn again

Fighting the dragon
All but one died
The dragon has won
And now a kingdom without a son
Must be left to be ruled by one of dragon skin

The song was written about the tragic event with the dragon and how the only survivors went to slay the dragon that still rests in the halls of Moldur. They didn't succeed in their quest. Nightwalker had also gone on this quest. She had survived, but at great cost. Now all the dwarves of Moldur are dead.  Nightwalker was now crying. Tears fall from her face making a small stain on her cloak. "You have a beautiful voice." Said a voice from below her. Nightwalker looked down at the ground to see Triston. Standing there looking at her. "Can I join you?" He asked blushing. "S-sure." Said Nightwalker wiping her eyes. Great I must look so weak. Triston climbed the tree and was now sitting next to Nightwalker. Triston was looking at the ground "What song were you singing?" Asked Triston. "It's called A tale of the east. It was a song written by dwarves in the north. It was written about a tragic event. Which I am the only living survivor of. The others and I went back to reclaim Moldur. I survived but a great cost." Said Nightwalker sadly. "Triston if you don't mind me asking but are you from Kírn?" Asked Nightwalker. Triston sighed. "I figured you would recognize me eventually. Yes I am from Kírn. And before you ask yes I am Triston of Kírn, next in line to be Lord of Kírn." Said Triston with a look of disgust in his eyes. "You can ask me a question if you want." Said Nightwalker. "Do you promise to answer what I ask you?" Asked Triston. "Ye-yeah. I promise." Said Nightwalker. "Okay. Why do you cover your face?" Asked Triston. "I cover my face for a couple of reasons. One of the reasons is I have a scar all the way down the left hand side of my face. The scar just goes past my eye." Said Nightwalker. She sounded scared when she said that. "Ca-Can I see your face?" Asked Triston. "The only people who have seen my face are dead." Said Nightwalker. "You can trust me. But it's okay if you don't want to show me your face." Said Triston. There was a glimmer of curiosity in his eyes. "I. I do trust you. But I will not." Said Nightwalker. "I had a feeling that you would say no." Said Triston with a goofy smile on his face. "Come on let's go back to the village. It's getting late." Said Triston as he was climbing down from the tree branch. "I think I'll stay here a bit longer." Said Nightwalker sadness still lingering in her voice. "Alright then, if your not back in an hour we'll send a search party." Said Triston as he walked back to Firestorm. The setting sun turned the once pale blue sky a brilliant scarlet. Nightwalker looked at the scarlet sky and was reminded of the day she and the other survivors of the dragon attack went back to Moldur. That same dragon that she escaped from. But there was a downside to her living. The dragon had cursed her. There was three good things about this curse but one major downside. "I hate dragons." Said Nightwalker forming her hands into fists in anger. Nightwalker began to feel pain coming from both of her hands and dark red liquid started to drip from her hands. "Heh this happens way too often." Said Nightwalker looking at her bloodied hands. "I think I should go back now." Said Nightwalker to herself. Nightwalker jumped from the branch she was sitting on. She began to walk back to Firestorm. As soon as she got back Lady Valkyrie rushed up to her and said. "Oh my Mairéad! What happened to your hands?" "I got a bit angry." Said Nightwalker calmly. "Well come with me and I'll get you some bandages." Said Lady Valkyrie. Nightwalker followed Lady Valkyrie to the guard tower. "Why don't you sit down in your room while I get the bandages." Said Lady Valkyrie. "Alright I'll go to my room mum." Said Nightwalker failing to hold in a giggle. Not long after Nightwalker went to her room Lady Valkyrie walked in with some bandages in her hands. "Here you go." Said Lady Valkyrie as she put the bandages on Nightwalker's bleeding hands. "Thanks." Said Nightwalker. "It's no problem. By the I was meaning to ask you. Why were you out in the woods anyways?" Said Lady Valkyrie. "Well I sensed Drachen near the wall so I started looking for him from the wall. But I couldn't see him so I was about to turn around to go down the stairs to go look outside the wall. But when I turned around I wasn't in Firestorm I was in Moldur the dwarven kingdom in the east. Bu-" Nightwalker was saying but Lady Valkyrie interrupted "So you teleported there by accident?" "No. It wasn't real and I know that for a fact because that kingdom now only has one living being as its population. I had to relive the worst day of my life. The day everyone I cared about was turned to ash. I watched them disintegrate in purple flames." Said Nightwalker now looking down. "I. I. I tried. I tried to save them.  But I couldn't get to them in time." Nightwalker said now crying. "You wanna know what the worst thing about it is. After the dragon attacked twelve others survived. One of them was my friend and his name was Haden. I'm. I'm.   I'm the reason he's dead!" Said Nightwalker her emotions were now out of control. Black aura was now starting come from her body. Suddenly black flame like tendrils started shooting out from the black aura destroying the walls of room in the process. "Nightwalker stop!" Screamed Lady Valkyrie in terror. Suddenly Triston broke threw the crumbling wall and hit Nightwalker on the back off the head causing her to black out. "Triston thank Mairéad you got here as soon as you did. I. I thought she might have killed me in the process." Said Lady Valkyrie a hint of fear still in her voice. "What happened?" Asked Triston."I don't know she just suddenly lost control or something like that."Said Lady Valkyrie. "What are we going to do with her?" Asked Triston. "I hate to do this but until she wakes up we will have to put her in the holding cells." Said Lady Valkyrie with a scared and serious look on her face.
