Everyone stood there, gazing up at the dreary old high school. It was heavily raining, and a storm was picking up. What a perfect weather for such a creepy place.
The windows were shattered and the metal doors were rusting over. It seemed to be abandoned, besides those few 'entities' that Ghost's machine picked up. Whatever they were, they most likely weren't human (or alive).
Light was still dreading the possible loss of his job. "I skipped work, I skipped work," he quietly repeated a few times. "What will my boss think of me? I need to tell him about his murderous animatronics. They might affect his work, too. Or if not, I'll report about that to the next night guard, and then that person will notify him." Zeron rambled on.
"Well, come on now. We don't want to catch a cold and pass it on, do we?" Johnny Ghost spoke up.
"I don't know... I'd rather stay out here!" The brother Acachalla gave him a look of fear.
"Don't be a chicken, Billy!" His waffle-loving sister dragged him towards the door, where Light and Johnny were already heading.
As Johnny opened the door, he began his egotistical greeting with a broad smile. "I'm Johnny Ghost, Paranormal In--!"
Zeron covered his mouth. "What are you doing? We don't know if this building is empty!" He whispered.
"Exactly! Why do you think I was talking?" Ghost said in his 'outside voice.' He entered the building, dragging the former blonde security guard behind him. Sally and Billy caught up. "Hello?!" The leader of P.I.E. called throughout the sinister building. Only his own echo answered him back.
There was a creak and the doors slammed shut as soon as the siblings entered the school. They moved closer together in surprise.
Everything was silent except for the splashing of water dropping from the ceiling.
"I... I don't like this..." Light said nervously, mentally predicting that something was going to pop up at any moment. He was shaking a little, but Johnny didn't even flinch. "None of this bothers you?" He said.
Johnny shook his head, staring blankly.
"You don't find this place unsettling in the slightest?" Billy whimpered behind them.
"No! I hunt ghosts for a living! Why should I be afraid of creaky old places like this?" Ghost answered with pride. "I even have a ghost living inside of me--" He stopped when the others stared at him. "O-Of course, that last part was just a joke."
"Okay, lower the tone. You're all way too loud." Sally said, her semi-sharp teeth glinting in the dim light. "I could barely hear that growl from over here."
"Alright, fine." Johnny pouted.
"Wait..." Zeron's voice quivered. "Did you say you heard a growl?" When Sally nodded for approval, he pushed the siblings out of the way and pulled on the doorknob of the giant front doors. It wouldn't budge. "Oh dear." He murmured to himself over and over.
Light, with pale skin, staggered over to Sally, who was attempting to consume one of her waffle earrings.
Billy had just noticed and snatched it out of her hand. "Don't eat that!"
After the Acachallas finished bickering over the earring that may or may not have been edible, Zeron asked, "Which way did the sound come from?"
Sally, who was in the middle of pinching Billy's arm, replied with, "It was that way." She pointed at the left corridor.
"Then we go this way!" Johnny said, marching to the opposite hallway.
"Are you okay?" Light said, stopping him.
"What do you mean?" Ghost asked, giving him a wide eyed smile.
"Ever since we got here, you've been acting a little... cocky..." The former security guard said, squinting his eyes in suspicion.
"I don't know." He frowned. "I'm used to the dark environment, I guess. And since we left that Pizzeria, I felt like some weight has been lifted off my shoulders... Or more likely, my stomach. I guess I'm just hungry. On another plus, a certain parasite type has finally shut up." The P.I.E. leader said, scratching his head and lowering his voice at the last sentence."Johnny?" Sally said, her voice pitched somewhat higher.
"Yes?" He questioned, turning his head.
"Watch out!" The waffle addict tried to yell before it was too late.
Ghost didn't move, leading to a white figure knocking him down.
Its eyes glowed white in the darkness, matching with its thin and entirely white body. It growled at him menacingly. It perched upon his back and its hands began to get bloody, but it hadn't done anything besides tackling Johnny. Ghost already had a wound.
Johnny's eyes whited out as well, but he wasn't dead.
"Stay away from Johnny, you weirdo!" Sally said with her claws drawn. The thing backed off when the sibling scratched its thin body. A thin slice of black goo came out of it.
Billy moved over to Johnny, whose mouth was foaming up at the corners. "No way... How did he get knocked over so quickly?" The boy flipped Ghost over so he could pick him up off the ground; he gasped.
"What is it?" Sally asked innocently.
"He... There's a hole in Johnny's stomach!" Billy's eyes widened.
"He mentioned feeling lighter in weight..." Light said quietly, the realization kicking in.
"Get off of my prey, Rake!" A scratchy voice interrupted from the same direction the other creature came from.
A knife wielding pale teenager attacked The Rake, stabbing it through the back. He had semi-short black hair, a white hoodie, and gray jeans with black converse. He also notably had no eyelids and his mouth was cut to the point where his gums were showing.
"Nice hit, friend." Rake hissed, grinning widely as the dark fluid poured out of its abdomen.
"Thanks, friend, but our prey might run off if we get distracted. I've been itching to decapitate something, so don't screw this up for me!" The boy removed the knife and pointed the goo-covered weapon at the group of mortals. They were moving away from the monsters; the three who were still standing looked back. "You're next, but you won't survive."
The murderous kid lunged at them with his knife while The Rake watched from behind, but he was stopped by another creep grabbing his wrist.
"Hehe~ Don't t-tease the visitors with--with knives, Jeff." A blood covered boy with almost the exact same features as Johnny Ghost spoke in broken sentence; the only difference between the two of them was the darker hair, red eyes, and demonic pointed ears and teeth.
The evil duplicate frowned and narrowed his eyebrows, changing his voice to an angered monotone. "I don't-I don't care how many pe-people you torture, but only I can use kn...knives to murder... blood... Stab, stab, stab!" He began laughing like crazy. In the middle of his humor fit, he stole the bloody knife from Jeff's hands and went towards the group of humans with murder in his blood red eyes.
