{ALEX'S POV}
I found myself getting progressively angrier all week. First off Jackson wouldn't talk to me because apperently my tears did more than cure the kanima, he now wasn't a werewolf either and Derek refused to bite him. Secondly I keep getting woken up at all hours of the night because someone in Derek's pack needs healing, and thirdly I'm having trouble keeping up with my school work.
I find my anger tolorance so low right now that I'll even get mad at the little things like someone bumping into me. Isaac seems very concerned along with Derek but I just brush it off. I know if I confront them about it I'll just get even more angry.
So my alarm clock ended up not going off and I was rushing to school late. What a great brother Isaac is, not waking me up and all I ranted in my head. I got to school about 10 minutes late and the teacher gave me a dissapointed look as I entered the classroom.
"I hope you have a good excuse for not being in class Ms. Lahey" the teacher scolded and I felt the anger bubbling up again and my mouth started up before my brain.
"For you information I wasn't woken up by a certain brother of mine" I spat at the teacher. I saw Isaac crumple his eyebrows together in guilt from the corner of my eyes.
"I will not tolorate you using that tone with me Alex" he warned "that's an after school detention."
"Oh yeah? Well then why don't you tolorate this? Fuck you asshole!" I snapped and I watched Isaac rushing toward me from his desk. The teacher looked flaberghasted and I felt a smug look slide onto my face, but before I could fully enjoy the look, Isaac was dragging me from the room.
"What the hell are you trying to do?" Isaac demanded and I was snapped back to earth by his tone. I honestly didn't know why I snapped at the teacher like that.
"I, I don't know" I sighed.
"Look I know you're probably pissed at me for not waking you up but" I started drowning him out when my face started feeling hot. It was almost as if I had stuck it in an oven. I closed my eyes and placed a hand on my forehead feeling dizzy.
"Alex, you ok?" Isaac asked concerned but I could just barely make it out.
"Yeah, I'll be fine" I said waving him off and I began stumbling down the hall away from him.
"Oh no you aren't" Isaac blurted as he rushed to my side.
"Is it hot in here?" I asked blinking my eyes rapidly at the dizziness. Then suddenly I felt myself falling and blacked out as I felt myself land in Isaac's arms.

{ISAAC'S POV}
"What the hell is happening to her Derek?" I demanded as I gestured to Alex, unconcious on the couch. I had hurried Alex back to Derek's house when she had fainted. Derek looked over to Alex, pursing his lips.
"I'm not sure" Derek explained, but I knew the look on his face.
"But you have a theory" I accused and he looked at me with an exhausted look.
"I want to be sure about it before I tell you" Derek reason but I gave him a stone cold look.
"Tell me now" I demanded and he sighed.
"I think the phoenix is slowly consuming her" he admitted and I gave him a quizzing look.
"What do you mean by that?" I ask having no idea what it meant.
"What I mean is that sometimes when someone finds out they are kissed by a phoenix.... the phoenix begins consuming them" He explained hesitantly "It starts out as bursts of anger, then distrust, then.... the fire."
"Fire?" I question.
"Once the Phoenix takes over there is no more Alex, supposedly she is buried beneath the persona of the phoenix" Derek replied "The phoenix may be a sweet innocent healing creature, but when it takes over a human body... it's evil Isaac. First it consumes, and then it kills."
"How do we stop it, how do we save her?" Isaac pleaded.
"We don't, because we can't" Derek sighed "but remember that this is just a theory."
"Yeah a theory that's sounding pretty true to me" I snapped "there has to be a way to stop it Derek!"
"Well if there is than I've never heard of it because the only cure I've ever heard of is to-" Derek stopped abruptly and flashed his eyes away.
"The only cure you've heard of is what?" I prodded desperately.
"The only way to stop it... is to kill her" Derek said in a sullen tone.
"We can't kill my sister Derek, she's all I have" I rushed out, then sighed in defeat as I sunk to the floor "are you sure there isn't any other way?" Derek sunk to the floor against the wall opposite me.
"I'm sorry Isaac" Derek sighed. I brought my hand up to my mouth in an attempt to contain my worry but it wouldn't work.
"I need some fresh air" I said, excusing myself and rushing out of the house.
{DEREK'S POV}
I hated seeing the pain in Isaac's eyes. That's the one reason why I didn't want to tell him, because I didn't want to hurt him. I knew it was exactly what was happening to her. I told her in hopes that she'd be one that wouldn't be consumed, but low and behold I was wrong.
My shoulders sank, there was no way we were going to get ourselves out of this one. When the time came, Isaac wasn't going to have what it takes to do what needed to be done, and that would be killing what used to be his sister. Then again, the girl has grown on me, and I don't think I'll have what it takes either.
