*1 WEEK LATER*
Micas POV:
"Go go go c'mon yes YES SCORE!!"
I shouted and jumped.
It was the first soccer game of the season, and me being a big soccer fan, I just had to come.
Oh, yeah, and Jason and Zach play.
After Zach asked me to lunch, we talked a lot more, and lunch was fine. We just chatted about where we were from, and what we liked. I found out he has a 4 year old sister named Amy, and he found out about my older brother, Trevor, in the military. Trevor is 18 now, only 3 years older than me, and he is in the Marines. He went straight out of high school, saying he felt it was wrong to live in a free country without doing anything. I missed him so much, and it nearly brought me to tears thinking about him. When he was in high school with me, he was always so protective and fun, and I missed him. He left this summer for the marines, and that definetly wasn't easy letting him go, but he's only going to be in the marines for 2 more years, saying he wants to go to college with me. We may have gotten in fights alot, but I will always love him, and I couldn't wait until he came back at christmas.
Anyways,
I was standing with 45 other people in my grade in the small, metal stands, cheering at the goal number 24, Malcolm, had just made.
The varsity soccer team was facing North Hulls, NHS. They weren't very good, but our team was scoring like crazy, reflecting hoe good this season would be.
The forwards were Malcolm, Russell, and some nerd named Mark, while Logan, Liam, and Jack played defense. Then, of course, Tarren and Landon played midfield with Jason, who was striker and sweeper. Jason was also captain, so he basically played wherever he wanted to on the field. Lastly, Zach was goalie, and he was very good, from what I could tell. He hasn't let one ball zip past him, which gave both the team and the audience more adrenaline.
There was merely a minute left in the game, and it was 6-0, us winning.
The team was already starting to jog, knowing they had won this game.
I smiled and cheered once the ref called the game was over, and we ran out on the field to greet the team.
I saw Zach first, and ran to him. He noticed me coming, and smiled and opened his arms. I could tell his jersey and goalie gloves were drenched by sweat, but I didn't care. I Judith wanted to hug him and congratulate him on the first game that had gone so wonderfully.
I finally reached him, and accepted his warm embrace. We hugged for a few mere seconds before I pulled away and praised his soccer skills, and the great season he had ahead. He didn't say much back, just nodded and smiled at me.
Once I was done talking to him, I congratulated the rest of the players, until I saw Jason approaching me. I gulped hard, and turned away, to make sure he was coming to me and not someone else. My thoughts were proved correct when I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned to see Jason grinning at me.
"Hey I didn't know you were coming. How'd we do?"
"Good! I can tell this'll be a good season already! I mean you and Malcolm scored like crazy tonight, and wow the defense axel played was great! Oh an Zach didn't let anything go past him and you just did wonderful!!"
I too a deep breath as I finished.
Jason just smiled at my speech and thanked me.
"Jasy poo!"
I heard a squeal from behind me.
Jason's head snapped up and looked to the sound of the voice.
His face contorted, and he groaned.
He looked back down at me,
"I'll be right back."
And walked past me, lightly nudging my shoulder unintentionally with his arm. I stumbled at the action, and turned to look where he was headed.
Jessica.
JASON'S POV:
I spotted Mica during the whole game, and immediately after the game was over. She congratulated Zach first, giving him a soft hug, before walking away and saying congrats to other players. I mingled with my other team mates and friends, before I noticed she was alone. I quickly took my chance, and clammy walked over to her. She turned away to the other side, giving me no choice but to tap her shoulder.
We had a brief conversation, before I was interrupted by the she devil herself.
I groaned and nudged past Mica, looking at Jessica's makeup caked face. I loved how Mica barely wore makeup, and she just added a touch of mascara to make her eyes pop.
"Jason babe you did so good!!"
She exclaimed once again.
I looked down at her face with a scowl.
"Thanks"
I mumbled and proceeded to walk away.
She touched my back to pull me back, but I wasn't in the mood to deal with her shit conversation today.
I shook my dads hand, and hugged my mom, before I was called by my coach to head to the locker rooms.
My team migrated to the high school, and we all stepped inside the locker room, taking a seat along the rough brick walls.
"Great start to the season, boys, absolutely tremendous. Since you did so well, we'll only do a 3 mile warm up Monday"
My coach chuckled, all of us groaning. We usually do a one mile warm up, but when we do a 3 mile it means an easy practice.
I clear out my things from the locker room, and begin to head out, but I was stopped by someone
"Good game today Jason"
Zach said, walking out of the locker room.
I looked up and weakly smiled and mumbled a "thanks man" before going back to talk and congratulate he rest of my teammates. Zach and I have hit a rough patch since that day in Chemistry, but we have gotten better.
I still don't like him going after Mica, but I need to grow a pair and go after her myself before I can complain.
After the exhausting 20 minute congratulation party in the locker room, I head to my dad's truck, parked towards the alley behind the school and whip out the keys, clicking the button and popping the door open.
Before I can jump in, a hear a faint whimper and a weak
"help"
coming from the alley.
I wonder if I'm hearing things, but I hear one more whimper and a loud THUMP.
I know I'm no longer hearing things anymore, so I cautiously walk over to the alley, and the sight inside makes me gasp.
Lying unconscious on the ground was a girl with bruises and cuts spread among her face, arms, and legs. I could tell she's been hit hard because half of her face is swelled and a purpleish green. She had a deep cut in her upper underarm, and her breathe was short and pained.
But this wasn't just some girl.
It was Mica.
