chapter four

I decided to call Kellin's phone.
it rang 6 times before he answered.

"hello..."

he answered quietly and I could tell he'd been crying.

"where are you?"

"it doesn't matter Kayla. if you can't believe that I'm going to be a better father than mine was then I don't think I can do this."

"kellin...."

I started crying again.

"talk to me in person." I choked out.

"okay."

I heard him behind me and turned around.

"where were you?"

"I was just walking around."

he hugged me tightly and kissed my forehead.

"I'm just scared kellin....." I whispered.

"I believe in you. you're gonna be an amazing mother, and I know that because you're an amazing person. you're kind and patient and strong-willed."

"baby I was never doubting you. I was only tearing myself down. I know you'll be a wonderful father, because youre a wonderful fiancé, a wonderful band mate, a wonderful son, a wonderful friend, and a wonderful man all around. there are so many things you can teach him or her. and he or she will love you as much as I do."

he smiled down at me and kissed me with passion.
jack opened the door.

"wooooooo, Kayla isn't going anywhere" he said sarcastically.

I laughed and walked over and hugged him.

"thank you jack." I said quietly.

"yeah whatever"

he laughed and went back inside.

"what was that?" kellin asked

"he and Jesse helped me realize a few things after you left."

"were they being jerks?" he asked getting angry already

"no, no they weren't. they helped me realize that there are already alot of people who love the baby just as much as we do, and that no matter where Sleeping With Sirens is, I won't ever be alone."

"well they're damn right. I would quit this band before I made you feel like a single mother. that's a promise."

"you won't ever need to do that, I promise."

we kissed and went to bed, exhausted from the events of the night.

two weeks passed and we were at the fourth to last show, Charlotte NC. I'd been excited about this show for months because I grew up near Charlotte, & I knew my bestfriends would be there. they didn't know about the baby yet, so I decided to surprise them.

"what are you doing?"

kellin asked when I got up and started getting ready, hours before SWS played on stage.

"I know you're worried, but I really need to see Megan and Leah. I'll just meet them and bring them back here for a while. I need to tell them about the little one." I smiled.

"okay. but seriously straight there and straight back."

he looked at me sternly. I rolled my eyes.

"okay dad."I said sarcastically.

he laughed and grabbed me by the hips, pulling me into his lap.
